Download from Facebook & reuse the content
Videos can inspire
Find and save viral videos from Facebook your industry leaders, your competitors, and trending brands promoted on Facebook. Download their videos in top quality and have them as a treasure box.
Spy and analyze videos
Why does this video have an enormous and full comment box? Why does this one have thousands of likes? Users can do an in-depth analysis of any Facebook video when they have it in their computer or smartphone memory. Check the latest update on your rival’s content and save it.
Get all facebook video from event
Do you want to have all content about a favorite event right on the device? For example, your wedding videos from all of your friends. Now you can download for future editing every single Facebook video from their pages without asking them to send them in the best quality.
Facebook is booming with videos: educational videos teaching you to garden or code, those addicting and useless 5-minute craft videos, the very visibly faked videos of people catching their partners cheating on them, aliens caught on film. If there is a craving for content, that content is likely on Facebook in video form.
If you want to share that video, you can copy the link and send it to a friend, or DM it to them through the app. You can save the video, but that doesn’t actually save the video to your phone or computer’s hard drive — instead, it adds the video to your saved video bookmarks so you can find it easier and watch it later on Facebook. Sometimes, though, a video is simply too brilliant or helpful to not have saved onto your phone. Maybe you want to show a parent, or access it when you’re offline. In order to download a video from Facebook, you’ll have to follow through with a few steps.
1. Pick a video
Find a video you want to save.
2. Copy the link
Click the three dots at the top right corner of the video, and then copy the link.
3. Paste that link into a new tab
Paste the link you copied into a new tab to navigate to that site.
4. Delete “www” in the url and change it to “mbasic.”
In the link, delete the “www” and change it to “mbasic.” This will turn your site into a very retro version of Facebook.
5. Open the video in a new tab
This will now be a single video on a black screen.
6. Right click, and save the video
Right click on the video, click save as, and boom! You’re done.
There is an easier way, and it’s how you can also save it on a mobile device. You can download a video from Facebook in the same way you would download a video from Twitter: by copying the share link, and pasting that link into a third-party website designed to do all of that work for you. Once you have the tweet link copied, you’ll want to go to a website like FB Down. There, you’ll paste the copied link and click download. You can also download a third-party app like the Friendly for Facebook app, which gives the Facebook app extra features, including a downloading option.
If all else fails, you can always record your screen, play the video, and save that video to your phone or desktop that way. Screen recording is fairly simple, but it might not give you the same quality as saving the Facebook video independently.

Wondering how to download Facebook videos?
It’s actually not that hard.
Why would you want to a extract a Facebook video file?
Maybe you want to use a clip from it. Or maybe you want to re-edit the video, re-share it, or post it to try to get more Likes on Facebook.
Here are 3 other possible reasons:
1. You uploaded via Instagram
You created a video on Instagram and pushed it to your Facebook Page (excellent way to get big reach, btw!).
Now you want to extract the Facebook video and use the video on YouTube, Vimeo or your own site.
2. You uploaded via a gaming console
My 10 year old son wants to be one of those gamer kids on his YouTube channel.
His PS4 console has the option to record the video game — but then only allows him to post it to Facebook, not YouTube.
3. You created a Live video on a private Facebook Group
If you have a private Facebook Group and you’re actively going Live, you might want to share that content in other locations.
So, how do you download a Facebook video file so you can upload it to other places? I’ll show you below.
How to Download Facebook Videos (or Live Video) in 4 Steps
This ninja trick shows you how to extract an MP4 file of your video from Facebook.
No fancy software required!
Below are the steps involved to download any Facebook video from a Page, Profile or Group!
Step 1: Go to the page
Go to the page that posted the video.
Then click the “Video” tab on the left hand side.
Step 2: Find the video
If you don’t have a direct link to the video, search for it in the Video tab. Once you find the video you want to download, click on it to open it.
Once you do that, you’ll see the date/time stamp.
Step 3: Copy the video link
Right click on the date/time stamp and copy the link.
Choose “Copy Link Address”.
Step 4: Download the video
You have several options when you’re ready to download any video from Facebook. Which version you choose is dependent on a couple of things:
- Is it on a Page, Profile or Group?
- Is it Public or Private?
For example, let’s say you manage a Private Facebook Group and want to download your latest Facebook Live video.
You might think you wouldn’t be able to download from a private group, right? WRONG!
Below are a few options to download the full (high resolution) Facebook video file.
A. Use a free website
There are many online websites that allow you to download a Facebook video without adding unnecessary software to your computer.
ByClick Downloader is simple.
Just head to the site and click “Download” and follow instructions.
Fbdownloader is a quick and easy way to download Facebook videos.

3. Copy and Paste the page source into GetFVid
If you’re like me and you love any option that simplifies your process, use an extension instead of navigating to the website.
B. Use a browser extension
If you don’t want to use an internet site to extract Facebook videos, you can use a browser extension.

Here’s how to download videos from Facebook on desktop and mobile
With video sharing one of the main reasons to visit in the first place, it’s useful to know how to download videos from Facebook so you can enjoy them wherever you are. However, there’s no “official” way to do this, like with Netflix or one of other best streaming services.
Additionally, private video uploads could well be private for a reason, so you should check with the person whose video you plan to download before proceeding.
With those caveats out of the way, here’s how to download Facebook videos.
How to download videos from Facebook on desktop
1. In your desktop browser, go to the Facebook website (opens in new tab) and find the video you want to download. For the purposes of this guide, we’ll use the most recent video on the official Tom’s Guide Facebook page (opens in new tab) .
2. Click the video that you’re interested in. When the clip starts playing, click the three dot button on the right-hand side of the video.
3. In the drop-down menu that opens, click “Copy link.” It’s the fourth item down.
4. Paste this link into a new browser tab. It may be shortened to an “fb.watch” link. If so, press Enter so it expands and you should be left with something that looks like the link in the screenshot below.
5. Now change the URL in the address bar so that “www” is changed to “mbasic.”
So, in the example above, https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=267770804789936 becomes https://mbasic.facebook.com/watch/?v=267770804789936.
Press Enter, and you’ll be presented with an ugly mobile view, as seen below.
6. Right click on the video and select “Open link in new tab.”
7. In the new tab, the Facebook video will be the only thing on display. Right click it, and choose “Save video as” to download the video to your computer.
How to download videos from Facebook on mobile
Downloading Facebook videos on mobile is a whole different kettle of fish, and while there are apps that claim to do it, a far simpler way is to use the website FBDown.net (opens in new tab) . This works on Android and iOS, but you’ll need to download the Firefox browser (opens in new tab) on an iPhone or iPad, as the FBDown.net site doesn’t load properly in Safari.
Bear in mind that this method only works on publicly shared Facebook videos.
1. Open the Facebook mobile app and log in.
2. Find the video you want to download, and press the ‘Share’ button underneath.
3. Swipe across until you find the option labelled “Copy Link.” Tap it.
4. Open your mobile browser (remember, to use Firefox (opens in new tab) if you’re on an iPhone) and head to www.fbdown.net.
Paste the video URL into the box in the middle of the page, and press “Download.”
5. On the next page, press the link to download in either “Normal Quality” or “High Quality.” This will impact the file size and how much space the video takes up on your mobile device.
6. This will open another page showing just the Facebook video. Long-press the clip and then tap “Download video” when the option appears.
The video will now be saved to your mobile device, where you can play it offline and keep it for as long as you want.
Now you’re familiar with how to download videos from Facebook, you may also want to learn how to hide Likes on Facebook or how to make yourself anonymous on Facebook. Or if you think emojis are so last year, check out how to make your own Facebook avatar.
To download your favorite video in MP4 simply Enter the Video URL into the address bar, click on the “Download Video” button to save the video to your computer and keep downloading videos of your choice to enjoy them offline later.
Download Your Favorite Videos With Ease – Free!
Every minute, hundreds of hours of video are being uploaded to video-sharing platforms. Billions of videos are being watched on a daily basis.
Whether most of the time you used to watch videos online, downloading your favorite videos for offline viewing has probably come to your mind for your personal use, or maybe you want to share it with your friend or want to upload this video as your story on apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Snapchat, or Instagram.
Despite this massive usage, video sharing websites are quite limited when it comes to downloading the videos on social media websites and apps including Facebook and Instagram.
Reason? They only want users to watch the videos on the website and not to download it for offline use. Their idea is to get people to come back again and again and to keep the user engaged with their online platform. This increases the percentage of ad views/clicks (their main income stream) and builds up more engagement for their ad publisher.
But so many people often want to download their favorite videos. Google recognizes this and only provides a rather rudimentary solution to the problem.
But wait, wouldn’t you rather have a system that lets you download any videos you want without any limitations or restrictions?
Well, now you do!
With our Free hd Video Downloader, downloading videos of your choice from different video sharing websites couldn’t be any better or easier.

IS IT LEGAL TO DOWNLOAD VIDEOS?
One concern that often pops up when it comes to the topic of downloading videos from Facebook or Instagram or any other social media platform is whether or not it is legal to download the videos?
There are two sides to it:
But in dealing with Google’s terms, you’d be straying from Google’s original demand if you download videos to watch online.
Watching videos offline takes money out of Google’s pocket. It could also take money off the wallets of the video creators (with an exception for non-monetized videos).
Video sharing websites run different types of ads, including pre-roll and interruptive ads. That’s the way they make money and for some contributors, that’s how they make money, too.
Google’s idea is to serve you with free, super-quality videos while you in turn view or click on ads. If you save videos to watch as an alternative to online, you are not keeping your own end of the bargain.
But you have your reasons, right?
In some circles, it is more helpful to download a video than go back to the same site repeatedly.
For instance, you can save Facebook videos for eLearning purposes. Nowadays, many colleges and universities encourage eLearning and video sharing websites are a very crucial element on that front. You can use a video downloader tool like ours to download eLearning videos and re-watch them as many times as you like, without wasting your data over and over again.

Plus a few important things to remember
Have you ever wanted to save videos from social media websites? Maybe there’s a Twitter video you want to download, or videos from Facebook or Instagram that you’d like to save? There isn’t a download button on these sites, but there are third-party tools that let you save videos from Instagram and other social networks.
Some of the best video downloaders for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are web apps, meaning that you don’t need to download a program to your computer to use them. Just copy the link to the video you want to save, and then paste it into the video downloader website to get the file (some even let you convert the video to an audio file format).
All the methods mentioned below work from a computer, but you can also use them to save videos directly to your phone or tablet. However, depending on the device you have, you might need an extra app that can handle file downloads. iPhones, for example, can use Documents, MyMedia, or Files.
Note: Downloading a video from these websites means videos that are actually stored on the site, not linked elsewhere. For example, if a Facebook post has a link to a YouTube video, you can’t use a Facebook video downloader to save it; you’d need a YouTube downloader instead.
Download Twitter Videos
There are several ways to download videos from Twitter, but we’ll review a method that uses a website called SaveTweetVid.
- Select the arrow next to the Tweet and choose Copy link to Tweet. If you’re already viewing the Tweet that has the video, you can copy the URL shown in the navigation bar of your browser.
- Paste the URL into the text box at SaveTweetVid, and press Download.
Tip: If SaveTweetVid doesn’t find the Twitter video you want to download, try a similar site like TWSaver, TwitterVideoDownloader, or DownloadTwitterVideo.
- Select one of the download options. You should see download links for various video qualities.
- The Twitter video download should start automatically, but if not, right-click the page and choose the save option. Or, if you see a menu on the bottom right, select it and then choose Download. You might also have luck using the Ctrl+S shortcut.
Mobile users might prefer an app that downloads Twitter videos. Video Downloader for Twitter and Download Twitter Videos are a few options for Android.
Download Facebook Videos
Facebook has a Save video option, but that’s not what you should use if you want to download a Facebook video. Fortunately, there are several free Facebook video downloaders that you can use to the same effect: to save the video from Facebook to your computer, phone, or tablet.
We’ll use Getfvid for this tutorial, but some other sites that work similarly include Fbdownloader, FBDOWN, and BitDownloader. There are even apps that are built specifically for this, like Video Downloader for Facebook for Android.
- Copy the link to the Facebook video by selecting the three-dotted menu and choosing Copy link.
- Open Getfvid, paste the link into the text box, and select DOWNLOAD.
Step 3: Select a download option. You can download the Facebook video in HD quality or normal quality, or convert the Facebook video to MP3.
Download Instagram Videos
Just like these other social media video downloaders, saving an Instagram video involves copying the link to the post and then pasting it into a web app. We’re using DownloadGram below, but some others that work too, include Instaview, Downloadinstagramvideos, w3toys, and Savefromweb.
Tip: We also have a guide on how to save full-size Instagram images.
- Copy the link to the Instagram video. You can do this by opening the video and copying the URL displayed in the web browser. Another option, which is required if you’re using the Instagram app, is to tap the three-dotted menu button on the post and choose Copy Link.
- Paste the link into the text box on DownloadGram, and then select Download followed by Download video.
- When prompted to download the video from Instagram, name it something you’ll recognize and choose where to save it.
There are also Instagram video downloader apps that might be easier to use if you’re on a mobile device. InstaSave is one example for Android devices that can download videos and images from Instagram pages.

Possible but not always easy
Maybe you want to download a video you found on a news site, or save a YouTube video to your computer? If you’re watching a free movie online and you want to save it to watch later on an airplane, you’ll want to download the video.
Regardless of your reason in doing so, downloading videos from the internet is usually possible, just not always easy. There are video downloaders you can try (these are your best bet) but also browser tricks to reveal hidden download links.
Download a Video With a Downloader Tool
The easiest way to download a video from a website when there isn’t a clear download button is to use a video downloader tool. These are specially made programs or web apps that look for and extract videos from webpages.
Catch.tube is one of the best ones out there. It’s totally free and works on popular websites like Twitter, CNN, Tumblr, YouTube, Facebook, and others. To use this free video downloader, just visit the website and paste the URL that contains the video.
Some other video downloaders you can try include Catchvideo.net, Savethevideo.com, RipSave, and the Chrome extension Video Downloader.
Hack Your Browser To Download a Video
Every webpage is made up of code that you don’t see unless you peer behind the scenes, and any video you watch is being streamed from a particular source. If you can find the source link from within the code, you might be able to reach a download link.
One clear example of where this works is with YouTube videos. Downloading videos from YouTube is a popular request and there are lots of tools that can do it (many that charge), so you might be surprised to learn that you can download any video from YouTube with nothing more than a browser hack. You can also download entire YouTube playlists at once.
A desktop web browser loads YouTube videos differently than a mobile one, so the idea here is to tell your desktop browser to request the YouTube video as if you were on a mobile device. Once your browser loads the page, a unique download link is visible, but only if you uncover the source code of the page.
- Open Firefox and go to about:config. Treat that like a URL, so enter it into the navigation area at the top of the browser.
- Right-click in an empty space and go to New >String.
- Name it general.useragent.override and then put this code there:
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 8_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/600.1.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) FxiOS/1.0 Mobile/12F69 Safari/600.1.4
- Open a new tab and find the YouTube video you want to download.
- Start the video and let it play for a few seconds. If there’s an ad, let that finish first.
- Right-click the video and choose Inspect Element.
- In the new window that opens, find
- Open a new tab in Firefox (or any browser) and enter that into the navigation bar.
- Right-click the video in that tab and choose Save Video As.
- Download videoplayback.mp4 to your computer to save the YouTube video. You can rename it if you want.
- Return to the tab with the user agent setting, right-click the new string you made, and select Reset to return Firefox to desktop mode.
Here’s another example where a CNN weather video has no download link on the surface, but if you turn Firefox into mobile mode and refresh the page, the source shows a simple MP4 download link.
This exact technique to download a video won’t work for every video on other websites become some video streaming services don’t have mobile versions of their pages, but a similar method might work.
If inspecting the video page doesn’t show a download link, try changing the browser’s user agent like we did above, and then give it another shot. You might also have luck using a different browser like Chrome or Edge.

All it takes is just one click to share a video you created with the world. This is either a thrilling or a terrifying concept; it depends entirely on the nature of the video and the kindness or otherwise of your friends. Some of the videos are so good, that you may want to watch them over and over again. With Facebook’s constantly changing News Feed and the fact that people update their pages frequently finding those videos again can be difficult. That’s why you may simply want to download videos from Facebook and share them with friends later.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD VIDEOS FROM FACEBOOK FREE USING INTERNET EXPLORER (IE)
One of the problems with Facebook is the high rate of flux of its content. This is extremely noticeable if you have a large number of friends who are constantly updating their profiles.
Here’s the challenge: You see a video that you like, you watch it, but when you try to find it later… it has disappeared in a News Feed.
One great solution to this problem is to download Facebook videos when you see them. Then you can easily share them with friends or watch them when you’re together; no need to browse through your News Feed to find them again. You don’t need to install a separate Facebook video downloader app to accomplish this. You can use the free version of RealPlayer to download videos from Facebook. If you don’t already have RealPlayer you can download it here. Use it to automatically download Facebook videos that your friends have posted recently. Once you have the application installed, just log into your Facebook account and you can start downloading Facebook videos to your RealPlayer library. However, be aware that some videos have restrictions and DRM, so you may not be able to download all the videos you see on Facebook.
1. Find a Facebook video to download
You can download videos from your News Feed or from a friend’s Facebook page. Simply, locate the video and press play.
2. Watch the video
Press play on the video you want to save and then hover over the top right corner of the screen and select “Download This Video.”
3. Automatically download the video
When you click “Download This Video” a version will automatically be saved in your RealPlayer library.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD FACEBOOK VIDEOS USING GOOGLE CHROME OR FIREFOX
For those that use Chrome or Firefox as their browser of choice, you can still download videos from Facebook using RealPlayer, but the experience is slightly different. Instead of hovering over the corner of video screen, there is a blue tab that will appear at the top of the browser in the center. Here’s how it works:
1. Play a video in Facebook
Find a video that you want to download and press play.
2. Click on the blue RealPlayer square
As the video plays, a blue square with the RealPlayer logo will drop down from the top of the screen. Click it.
3. Select Download This Video
When you click the blue square, a box will appear with a button that says “Download This Video.” Click the button and video will start to download to your RealPlayer library.
FACEBOOK VIDEOS: WHAT’S YOUR PREFERRED SHARING METHOD
Second only to sharing videos on YouTube, never has online video had more power than it has on Facebook. Why? Hitting the “share” button is so darn easy and often it’s too late to take the video down without anyone having a chance to see it.
Sharing videos on Facebook has exponential power, but that’s no reason to be terrified – you can use this weapon to achieve a lot of good. There are several ways that you can share a video with friends on Facebook.
- The simplest way to share videos if you have a good Internet connection is to send it straight from your video camera (if it’s your mobile device) to your Facebook page. Give it a good title, tag your friends who would like the video, hit update, and that’s it. You are done.
- If you don’t upload Facebook videos directly from a mobile device, you can transfer the video to a desktop computer from your video camera and then upload it to Facebook. If you’re feeling artistic and want to edit the video first, you can upload videos to Facebook straight from the editing software package on your PC. The specifications for the format types, the aspect ratio, and the file size can be found here. A word of warning: Facebook videos must be less than 1024MBs in file size and under 20 minutes in length. Just make sure the video fits those specifications and uploading videos is a breeze.
- For larger videos, you can upload them to a compatible video sharing website and embed the video into your Facebook page as a status update. This works just fine, no problem at all.
- If you have a Facebook Page for business or dedicated to your career then it’s possible to embed your whole YouTube Channel onto a tab on your Facebook Page. This looks fabulous and is a great way to showcase your video talents.
- Of course, the last way to share a video on Facebook that you haven’t created is to simply hit the share button on one of the videos of a friend and now all your other friends can see it, too.
WHAT MAKES A VIRAL FACEBOOK VIDEO
There are no magic tricks to making a viral video or in the case of a horrific bachelor party misdemeanor… preventing one. In truth, the secret to creating a video that spreads around the world in a matter of hours, almost always lies somewhere within the nature of the video content. Here are some things to look for in your video:
- It is shocking.
- It is hilarious.
- It involves a celebrity.
- It involves a celebrity doing something that is both shocking and hilarious.
SAVING YOUR FRIENDS FROM FACEBOOK VIDEO SHAME
To shame or not to shame — that really is the question. If a friend acts shamelessly and you manage to catch this hilarious, or downright scandalous act on video… should you post it on Facebook? Ultimately, that’s a question of ethics and what feels right to you and your friendship with that person.
That said, you should check out our post on The Unbreakable Rules Of Video Sharing. It provides Facebook video posting guidelines. Remember, downloading Facebook videos is insanely easy. Think about if what you’re posting is a video you wanted downloaded from Facebook before hitting the share button.
What types of videos do you post on Facebook? Do you want to download Facebook videos so you can save them in your personal archive? What are your favorite Facebook videos? Let us know in the comments below.

Facebook is an American for-profit corporation and an online social media and social networking service based in Menlo Park, California. The Facebook website was launched on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg, along with fellow Harvard College students and roommates, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes.
The founders had initially limited the website’s membership to Harvard students; however, later they expanded it to higher education institutions in the Boston area, the Ivy League schools, and Stanford University. Facebook gradually added support for students at various other universities, and eventually to high school students as well. Since 2006, anyone who claims to be at least 13 years old has been allowed to become a registered user of Facebook, though variations exist in the minimum age requirement, depending on applicable local laws. The Facebook name comes from the face book directories often given to United States university students.

Facebook doesn’t make it easy to save videos to your phone or computer — the social media service would rather you simply return to Facebook to watch it again.
But just because Facebook would prefer that you don’t download video, that doesn’t mean you can’t do it.
In fact, it’s possible to save video whether you’re using your computer, iPhone, or Android phone.
Save, or “bookmark,” a video on Facebook for later
Before we get to permanently downloading videos from Facebook, though, there may be times when you simply want to save a video within Facebook so you can more easily watch it later. Think of it like “bookmarking” a video.
1. Find a video that you want to save for later.
2. Click or tap the three dots at the top right of the post.
3. Click or tap “Save video.”
Later, when you want to return to the video, all of your saved videos will be stored in one place:
- On a computer, click the Facebook icon at the top left of the window. Click “Watch,” and then click “Saved Videos.”
- On a phone, tap the three horizontal lines (known as a “hamburger menu”) and then tap “Saved.”
Save a video to your iPhone or Android device
You can’t download a video to your phone using the ordinary Facebook app, but there are a number of third-party apps which make it possible to save video directly to your phone’s Camera Roll. One app that works particularly well for both Android and iPhone users is called Friendly for Facebook .
Friendly does a lot of things and is intended to combine the features of Facebook and Messenger into a single app, but you only need to know about one thing: It downloads and saves video to your phone.
1. Install Friendly for Facebook.
2. Start the app and tap Add Account.
3. If the app asks which service you want to connect to, tap Facebook.
4. Log into Facebook using your usual Facebook credentials.
5. Once you’re logged in, you can use Friendly instead of the official Facebook app — for the most part, it will look and act the same as the app you are used to.
6. When you see a video you want to save, tap the cloud-shaped download button in the lower right corner to save it to your phone’s photo and video library. (For some videos, you may need to start playing the video to see the download button.)
Save a video on your computer
Unlike your phone, we don’t recommend using any third-party programs or websites to try to download video on your computer. Many of these are not trustworthy and can contain malware or attempt to lure you into paying for additional services.
Instead, there’s a trick you can use to download video directly from Facebook.
1. Find a video that you want to save.
2. Start playing the video, then right-click on the video and choose “show video URL.”
3. Click in the video URL that appears and copy it (select the text and choose CTRL-C).
4. In a new browser window, paste the URL you just copied. Don’t press Enter yet.
5. Replace the “www” with “mbasic.”
6. Press Enter so the new URL loads in the browser. You’ll see the video appear in a format that’s optimized for a mobile device.
7. Start playing the video, then right-click on the video and choose “Save Video As…”
8. Give the video a name and click Save.
The video will now be saved to your computer.

How to Save a Video That You Posted on Facebook
Media uploaded to Facebook can serve as a backup if you lose the original file. To retrieve a video from Facebook that you uploaded:
Sign in to Facebook on your laptop or desktop computer and go to your profile page.
Go to the header menu and hover the cursor over More.
If you don’t see this option, select Manage Sections from the More menu, and enable Videos.
In the Videos pane, select Your Videos.
Hover over the video you want to download, then select the pencil icon located in the upper-right corner of the image.
Select Download SD (standard definition) or Download HD (high-definition).
The video appears in a new screen. Select the three vertical dots (located in the lower-right corner of the video player), then choose Download. The file downloads to your computer.
How to Save a Video That Someone Else Posted on Facebook
If a video appears in your Facebook timeline after being posted by a friend, family member, company, or other entity, download it as an MP4 file and store it locally for future use. But first, you must trick Facebook into thinking that you’re viewing the social media site on a mobile device, an unconventional but necessary workaround. The following steps work for the majority of Facebook videos, including those originally recorded using Facebook Live, in most major web browsers.
Go to the video that you wish to download, then right-click anywhere within the player.
Select Show video URL. Or, select Copy video URL at current time, then skip to step 4.
Click the URL to highlight it, then right-click and select Copy. You can also use the Ctrl+C or Command+C shortcut on the keyboard.
Clear the browser address bar and paste the URL.
Edit the URL. Replace www with m. The front portion of the URL should now read m.facebook.com instead of www.facebook.com. Press Enter to load the new address.
In Microsoft Edge, select Save to download the video file to your default location. In Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, right-click anywhere on the video and select Inspect.
Press Play, then select the arrow icon (located in the upper-left corner of the inspection window).
Select the video to focus on it.
In the Elements window, right-click the URL and select Copy link address. If you don’t see that option, double-click the area where you see the video’s URL so that it’s highlighted, and then copy the URL using the Ctrl+C or Command+C keyboard shortcut.
Paste the new URL into a new, empty browser window and press Enter.
The video will play in a smaller window. Select the three vertical dots that are located in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Select Download. The video downloads as an mp4 file to your computer.
How to Save a Video From Facebook on an iOS or Android Device
To download someone else’s video to your phone or tablet, you’ll need to download a third-party app such as Friendly For Facebook. Friendly adds workflow and usability features to Facebook, including an option to download any video posted to the social network.
The instructions to download Facebook video to a phone or tablet is the same for both iOS and Android.
After locating the video that you’d like to save to your device, tap the play button. Once the video begins to play, tap anywhere on the screen to see playback and menu information. Select the Cloud icon that’s located in the lower-right corner of the screen. A menu will appear that gives you the option to download the video to your mobile device.
On Android, tapping the Cloud icon instantly downloads the video.
Friendly will request access to your photos and other media files. Grant access to download any video from Facebook.
If you’ve been using Facebook regularly for years, don’t forget to back it up. You’ll be surprised how much data you have on the social network and might want to delete.
If you are a heavy Facebook user, the number of photos, videos, and other data you’ve uploaded to the site can be massive. So from time to time, you should download a full copy of all photos and other data uploaded to your account.
And you’ll definitely want to get a full backup if you want to deactivate your account and just use FB Messenger. Or get a full backup of your data if you’re going to permanently delete your account.
The process of downloading your data isn’t complicated, you just need to know where to look in settings. Here’s what you need to do to get a full backup of your photos, videos, and other data from Facebook.
Request a Copy of All Your Facebook Data
To get started, head to Facebook in a browser on your desktop and log into your account if you aren’t already. Then, click the Account (down arrow) button in the upper-right corner and click Settings & Privacy.
Next, click on Settings from the menu.
On the next page, click Your Facebook Information from the left panel.
Now from the menu on the right, click the View link next to the “Download Your Information” category.
On the following page, you have some options. Facebook allows you to request a copy of all your data, data from a specific date range, HTML or JSON format, and media quality.
Note: Select HTML for an easy-to-view and review archive of your data. It’s the option that’s best for most users. Select the JSON format if you want to import your data to another app or service.
You can also scroll down the “Your Information” list and check what you do or don’t want to download. By default, everything is selected such as Groups, Likes and Reactions, Photos and Videos, Messages, and more.
Since we want a full copy of everything, just keep all of the default settings and click the Create File button.
Next, you will see a message that a copy of your data is being created. Facebook will notify you when the file is ready to be downloaded. The amount of time it takes will vary depending on the amount of data you requested. If you want to stop the process you can click the “cancel this process” link in the message.
While your file is being prepared for download, you can continue using Facebook. Just keep in mind that some of your data uploaded after the request won’t be contained in the backup.
Download Your Facebook Data File
Once the copy of all your requested Facebook data is ready to be downloaded you’ll get a notification message. Click the notification.
You’ll be brought to the following page where you can download your data file. You can see when the copy was requested, the file format (in this case HTML), and the media quality. Note that you only have a few days to download it before it expires. Click the Download button.
Before you can download the file you will need to re-enter your account password and click Submit.
Now go to the folder where your file was downloaded and extract everything from the Zip file. Everything in your archive is pretty straightforward. But for more details on everything that’s indexed to your archive check out this Facebook support page.
Once you extract the zip file you can start looking through all of your Facebook data. There’s a lot to comb through if since we selected to include everything. Just open a folder and double-click the file you want to view.
Some folders will contain copies of the actual files you uploaded like in the “Mobile Uploads” folder, for example.
Others will have HTML files that will open in your default browser and you can view them while offline. For example, here I opened my “Posts and Comments” HTML file in Microsoft Edge. You can view your archived pages just like you would on the website.
That’s all there is to it. Again, there is a ton of content to browse through if you want. It can be fun to go back in time and see what you were chatting about or view photos and videos you uploaded back in the day. You might also be a bit creeped out about how much data Facebook keeps on you. Whatever the case, it’s important to know how to download a full copy of your data.

These are the best, completely legal ways to download free movies
Streaming is great, but sometimes you want to watch that movie during the camping trip in the middle of nowhere or on the plane when the internet is much slower than at home. The solution is to download the movie onto your device so you can watch it (aka “stream it locally”) later on, when the internet isn’t so great.
It’s easy to search for “free movies” to download, but pretty much everything you find will be illegal. Fortunately, there are plenty of completely legal free movie download sources out there. Some of them offer movies in the public domain, but most are actually not-so-well-known, free features of the streaming plans you may already subscribe to!
We scoured the internet and found all the best free movie download sources, filtered through them to remove any of the shady ones (you’re welcome, trust us), and wrote about them below. Enjoy!
As you know, streaming is usually a better way to get free movies because there are simply a lot more free and legal movie streaming options out there vs movie download sites or services. Check out the streaming advice at the bottom of this page for more.
Here is the screen capture tips to download non downloadable videos from internet. Most websites nowadays include video content in some form or other – more often than not as an embedded streaming video player. If you want to download these videos so that you’re able to watch them offline you may run into some issues, which is why it helps to know the various options that you actually have at your disposal to do so.
1. Check if there is a download link
Some websites are nice enough to include a download link, so be sure to check for one first. Normally it will be located somewhere near the embedded video player itself, so that should be the first place that you look.
2. Try to download it from the embedded player
Certain embedded players will allow you to download videos directly from them. Most of the time all you need to do to access this feature is right-click somewhere in the embedded player and select the ‘Download’ or ‘Download source video’ option. The exact way in which it is phrased may vary, but it should be obvious enough.
3. Use online ‘video downloader’ sites
If there’s no easy option to download the video, your next resort could be to use some of the video downloader sites that are out there. Typically these work with the popular video streaming platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo, and you can find them easily enough using Google. Tips to download Facebook non downloadable videos.
4. Use screen capture software to record the video from your screen
In some cases even ‘video downloader’ sites won’t work (or you’d rather not use them), and if so you could simply record the video directly from your screen and save it using screen capture software. If you haven’t used software like this in the past it might be a bit confusing at first, but it will effectively let you ‘download’ any video – no matter how ‘non-downloadable’ it is.

If you are trying to share Facebook videos without people not on Facebook, you should follow this tutorial. You can upload videos in your Facebook profile and share that video with your Facebook friends quite easily. But this is not the case when you want to share the same video with people outside of Facebook. It is because Facebook does not allow an “Outsider” to view your photo albums or videos.
Consider a scenario, you have some video clips on your computer, and you want to share them with your online friends. In that case, it would be better to choose YouTube or other video sharing sites because these sites let anyone view your uploaded video. The viewers do not necessarily have to create an account with the website to watch the video clipping.
Sharing videos from Facebook is problematic due to the following two reasons:
1. Facebook does not provide any embed code for your uploaded video. You can’t embed a Facebook video on your blog or website (legally).
2. Facebook does not provide a publicly accessible URL of a video.
How to Share Facebook Videos With People Not On Facebook
To share Facebook videos without people not on Facebook, follow these steps-
- Select a Facebook video that you want to share with your friend.
- Click on the video link that looks like this – https://www.facebook.com/username/videos/unique-id

- Select the Copy link from the list.
- Send the link to someone to allow him/her to watch.
Embed Facebook Videos in a Webpage
If you embed a video on a webpage, anybody can watch that video without any problem. No matter whether someone has a Facebook account or not, you can allow that person to watch the video. Embedding a video on a webpage is quite easy, as Facebook allows users to get the respective code without any problem.
To get started, select a video and open the link to that video. After that, click on the three-dotted icon and select the Embed option.
After that, click on the Get Code button to generate the code and copy it. After that, you may go through the screen’s instructions to create an App ID. Follow that process; you should find two sets of codes. The first one needs to be placed inside the tag, and the second one should be placed where you want to display the video player on a webpage.
After publishing the webpage, you can ask your friend to open it so that he/she can watch the video.

If you do not like to use these methods, you should try some simple steps to share Facebook videos with people not on Facebook. These following methods are pretty simple and easy to use. The only drawback is you need to use a computer or official Facebook app for mobile.
Method #1: Copy Facebook Video URL
It is possible to share a Facebook video with anyone not on Facebook if you can copy the URL of the video. If the uploader has made the video public, you can certainly share the video with everyone, not on Facebook. You can send the video URL via email, text message, WhatsApp, etc. It is quite easy to copy the Facebook video URL, and there is no need to use any third-party tool for that. The following steps need to be followed on a computer to copy the Facebook video link.
At first, find a video you want to share. You need to hit the Play and Pause button one after one. After that, right-click on the video and select Show Video URL option.
You should find the URL in a box. Following that, you can select the whole URL and copy that in your notepad. Later on, you know what you need to do to share the URL with all the people not on Facebook.
The drawback of this method is the recipient needs to open Facebook to get the video. However, if you can download the video and send it on WhatsApp or anywhere else, the recipient doesn’t need to open Facebook. Instead, he/she can watch the video directly.
Method #2: Download Facebook Video
Several tools can help you download the video. No matter which tool you choose, you need to enter the video URL first.
1] FB Down

This tool allows users to download a video in HD as well as SD. if you have a considerable amount of bandwidth, you can go with HD quality. Otherwise, the SD is for you.
2] FB Download
FB Download is much better than FB Down since it comes with a lot of advanced and handy features. From allowing users to download a video in HD, SD, etc. to choose the various resolutions, you can dow everything before downloading a video.
Getfvid is another free website that you can use to download Facebook videos without any problem. No matter whether the video is one minute or thirty minutes long, you can download both swiftly. The best thing is that it allows users to download the audio so that users do not need to use any app to remove audio from video. On the other hand, there are two options – Download in HD Quality and Download in Normal Quality. As usual, if you choose the second option, you need to consume less bandwidth than the first one. Visit website
Method #3: Send Facebook Video Via WhatsApp
Almost all smartphone users have a WhatsApp account, and you can rely on that platform to share a video even when the recipient doesn’t have a Facebook profile. It is very easy to copy a video link from Facebook and send it via WhatsApp to someone. No matter whether you want to share a video with only one person or an in a group of your friends, you can do both without any issue. To get started, you need to select a video that you want to send. Then, tap on the three-dotted button and select the Copy link option. Now you can paste the link on WhatsApp to send it to your friend, family member, or anybody else.
These are the ultimate methods you can use to share Facebook video with someone, not on Facebook. I hope they will be helpful to you.
Facebook is the number one site where you probably spend most of your time online. Undoubtedly, the comments, messages, photos, and videos you post up end up accumulating into one big online scrapbook of your best and most memorable moments in life. It isn’t any wonder then that you would want to preserve that content offline and onto your computer?
While the videos and photos you have posted up might already be on your computer, there are some related bits, like the notes, comments, Wall posts or Facebook messages, which aren’t.
In fact, one of our PDF Creator Facebook app users was wondering if there was a way in which she could download and get all of her Facebook messages into PDF format.
If you want to download your Facebook data into a PDF file, here’s a detailed and slightly altered step-by-step version of the solution we put together and which you can try out for yourself.
1. Log into your Facebook Account
2. Go to Account Settings
3. Under General settings, click on the “Download a copy” of your Facebook data link below your personal information settings.
You’ll then get an overview of what information will be archived and which won’t.
4. Click on the Start My Archive button and confirm your download. This process may take a while depending on how much data you have. Facebook will send you a link to download your archive file via email.
As Facebook notes, all the data contained on your Facebook profile will be downloaded into one single archive. However, you will get the chance to choose which folder and data you can convert later on.
5. Check your email for the link and click on it to reconfirm your password. Download and save the zipped file to your computer.
6. Extract all files from the zipped folder into a folder or location you can easily access. It contains the individual files of your data– photos, videos, and web-based content.
To access your messages, go to HTML> Messages file.
Double click to open the Messages file in your browser to make sure all the content you want is there.
To convert this data into the PDF format, you can use Sonic PDF Creator 3.0 to convert HTML to PDF.
7. Once installed or if you have the program already, open Sonic PDF Creator and click on the Create PDF From File icon on the command toolbar.
8. Click on the Browse button. Select and upload your Messages HTML file.
9. Click the Create PDF button. This should start the conversion process.
Once your Facebook data conversion is done, you can then add whatever PDF features you want to the file. Add a password, headers, footers, watermarks or bookmarks. When you’ve added all you want, simply save your PDF file in a location of your choice.
This process can work for any of the HTML data files you have in your archive. It’s an easy way to keep or reuse your Facebook content in a secure manner while customizing the file to your needs. Give it a try.
