Introduction: How to Do a Cool and Simple Card Trick
By mobc Follow
I learned how to do this simple card trick from my uncle. It’s really easy to do but will still amaze the person you are showing it to. However if the person asks you to show the trick to them again DON’T. The reason for this is that they may find out how the trick works.
Keep reading to find out how to do this card trick!
Step 1: Shuffle the Deck
I know that this is sounds really simple but it is the most crucial part of the trick.
While shuffling you must take a look at the bottom card and memorize it (both number and suit). This will be very important later in the trick.
Step 2: Pick a Card
Now you fan the cards and ask the person to pick a card, look at it, and put it at the bottom of the deck.
Step 3: Shuffle the Deck, Again
This is also very important you must cut the cards up to 4 times (simple but important).
Step 4: Is This Your Card?
Now take the deck and start flipping cards over. Do you remember the card that you memorized earlier? When you see this card then you flip over one more card, pick it up and ask is this your card?
Hey, are you looking for a few easy card tricks to impress your friends? Well, you’re in the right place because I was too and I put this list together for you of the easiest magic tricks out there!
An easy card trick that takes no effort on your part, no preparation, no dodgy angles, and best of all, no £100 price tag is almost like a unicorn; they don’t exist, and even if they do, it sure as hell is hard to find them!
You can go through literal hours of YouTube content, each promising to show you tricks like ‘Dynamo best trick ever REVEALED!!’, without encountering one decent tutorial. Likewise, you can shell out tenner after tenner on mediocre gimmicks and gadgets online, without actually getting any better at what you came here to learn: CARD TRICKS.
But don’t worry. I’ve done all the work and found 5 of the best beginner card tricks on the net, at the lowest prices (some even for FREE).
Easy Card Trick Number 6: What Card Am I Holding?
Seriously this is one of the easiest magic tricks you will ever find, and I promise you it will get huge reactions from your friends! Even with 13 years of magic under my belt I still turn to this trick sometimes just because it never fails me and always gets me a good reaction.
Ok, so for this trick ALL you’re going to need is any deck of cards.
Take a card in your hand and bend it slightly, you’ll see that if you bend it forwards you can spot the number and suit of the card with only a SLIGHT bend in the card.
Sounds confusing perhaps, but if you just take a card and bend it forwards you’ll see what I mean.
Now, this trick is really sold in the performance!
What I like to do is take the card, bend it slightly, rub it with my hand, and flick it! I tell the audience that just by hearing the sound it makes and feeling it I can tell what card I am holding.
The best thing is you can hand them the card and they can try it themselves by feeling the card and flicking it- focussing on that rather than seeing what it looks like when you bend it forwards.
I promise you this will fool almost anyone you try it on, you can do whatever performance you want and with just THREE minutes of practice, you’ll be ready to go fool whichever hot girl/guy you want to make out with. (Wives/husbands included.)
Easy Card Trick Number 5: Easiest Card Trick Ever!
Now, to kick this list off we have a free online tutorial provided by the brilliant Mismag822. Mismag’s channel is perhaps THE number one place to learn free and easy card tricks; he has hundreds of quality videos with detailed instruction on all kinds of tricks- math tricks, self working tricks, beginner/intermediate/advanced tricks. Here is a great little trick to give you a taste of the style of trick Mismag offers:
This trick is really tidy and effective- no preparation, no advanced moves, and the deck can be given out for inspection afterwards. Sure, it may not blow minds but it will definitely mystify and baffle people to the point of frustration.
Now at No.4 on this list we have another free card trick tutorial, this time provided by the great channel Scam School. It’s an old video, but the trick, and more importantly, the concept discussed in this lesson you will see time and time again in card magic. It’s easy, lots of fun, and best of all, you always win.
Any of you who watch Britain’s Got Talent might have seen the magician Jamie Raven perform a card trick with a moving stickman that made Simon Cowell say “I now believe in magic. There’s no explanation for that.”
Here’s the performance for you:
Looks impossible right? It just can’t be real? Well it is, and in about five minutes you can get the trick too.
And the best thing about it is- you can perform this trick too! It’s easy, doesn’t require any preparation, and leaves your audience believing you really are a magician! Is any more description necessary?
This amazing card trick (Cardtoon), is available from most magic shops, and I think it is on Amazon too!
I have to be honest with you here. No.2 spot on this list is, admittedly, not easy, or quick. That being said, neither is it actually as hard as it may seem. It deserves this spot simply because it is just too awesome not to be included.
This is the first thing I do when someone tells me to ‘do something magic’, and trust me, if it’s the only trick you ever learn, it would be worth it. It’s going to take some practice, and you’re undoubtedly going to mess up a few times to begin with, but once you have the move mastered, you can do it anywhere, anyplace, with pretty much anything that even resembles a playing card.
Without further ado, learn for FREE, how to make a card vanish.
And finally, THE best quick and easy trick. A trick that is used by professionals around the globe. A trick that will convince people that you can literally read their mind. If you want to learn how to do magic, this is a huge step in the right direction!
The Invisible Deck is hands down the best quality trick you could buy for a tenner and under, and I’d dare say it’s better than most tricks over a tenner too. The spectator simply thinks of a card, inside their head, never writes it down or says it out loud. You tell them that not only do you know what card they are thinking of, you knew what card they would think of BEFORE you even asked them to think of a card. You ask them to name their card out loud for the very first time. You pull out a deck of cards. As you spread through the cards, they notice that one card is turned face down. Sure enough, against all odds, it’s their card.
This trick is almost the perfect trick- sure, you can’t exactly hand them the deck to look at afterward, but the angles are great, the preparation and setup are already done for you, and it gets amazing reactions.
So there you have it, my top 5 quick and easy card tricks. I hope you enjoyed this list!
Benji spent nearly 2 years studying with world-renowned card magicians Aaron Fisher and Adam Grace. During that time, he also worked with many of the greatest magicians of our time, including performers like Lee Asher, Greg Wilson and Scott Alexander.
Now, he’s bringing his unique perspective on magic to readers across the world at The Daily Magician.
I love card tricks. My favorite card trick that I played on a brother-in-law totally freaked him out and he has always been a bit scared of me ever since.
Time for me to get a few more card tricks in my repertoire. I will have to practice the tricks on the video.
Wow, what was the trick, if you can recall? It’s funny how sometimes simple methods can get such great results! Definitely

How to Do Easy Card Tricks for Beginners?
Easy Card Trick
☞ Take a deck of card, and shuffle it thoroughly. You can also ask one of your spectators to do it.
☞ Now hold the deck so that the cards are facing the spectators and the back of the deck is towards you.
☞ Pull out the second card, third card and fourth card from the deck and hold them in a fan formation, and wedge them at the back of the deck.
☞ Allow the top card to remain in place so that the spectators do not know about this extra card.
☞ Display the three fanned cards to the spectators, hiding the extra card behind the fanned cards.
Ask the spectators to select a card from the fanned cards by making them point at it.
☞ Assign a number to each card like “one”, “two” and “three” and ask the spectators to remember the card based on the number.
☞ After the spectator are done selecting a card by naming a number, gather the cards on top of the deck and allow the unseen first card to stay on top.
☞ Count the number of spectators who have selected the cards and take that many cards from the top of the deck and push them into the middle of the deck.
☞ Now utter some magic words and display the top card to show the spectator his card that has magically risen to the top.
Fun Card Trick
☞ First prepare the deck of cards by separating it into two decks by color; one black and the other red.
☞ Put one colored deck over the other without shuffling them.
☞ Now before performing before an audience, separate the two decks again and place them in a table over a cloth with their face down.
☞ Ask an audience member to come up and choose a card at random from each pile, memorize them and place them in the opposite pile from which it was selected.
☞ Now ask the person to shuffle each deck separately and then place the two decks together, one over the other.
☞ Now you look through the cards and find the two cards that do not match the color of the cards that are surrounding it.
☞ Voila! You have learned another easy card trick.
Cool Card Trick
☞ Ask a person to think of any number from 1 to 10 and then let him shuffle the deck of cards.
☞ While shuffling the cards, ask the person to count down to the number he has thought of and then remember that particular card.
☞ While the person is counting cards, turn your back towards the person, so that you cannot see the card.
☞ After the person has memorized the card, take the deck from him and place it behind your back.
Learning new card tricks, especially ones that are easy but still cool, isn’t something that comes naturally to everyone. I’ll admit it: I’m not good at any magic tricks. I mean, I can learn things but I am no Neil Patrick Harris. I still feel residual shame from the one time in fifth grade when our teacher made us each learn a card trick that we would perform in front of the class for a grade, and when I screwed mine up in front of the whole class, I sat in a corner and very quietly and melodramatically cried. I tell you this because now that you know how completely inept I am at magic, you will know that when I tell you that this list of card tricks I compiled is super easy, I mean that anybody could do it.
You might be wondering why card tricks are a valuable life skill for you to learn at this point in the game, so gather round, fellow people of the internet, and I’ll tell you: You can learn magic to make friends at parties, to get out of speeding tickets, or if you’re feeling particularly ambitious, keep mastering the craft until you become the next David Blaine, make bank, and meet a ton of celebrities.
1. "The Power Of Four"
For the first trick in the bunch, we’re starting out easy, hence the reason it’s called “The Easiest Card Trick Ever.” Wow your party guests by letting them shuffle the deck and split it in half. By looking at the fourth card down in one half of the deck, you always
know the exact fourth card in the other half of the deck, too.
2. "Make A Prediction"
This one is the same magician as the first one, but a little more complicated. You pull out a "prediction" card at the beginning and split the deck three ways, and your audience will be boggled that the second card in every deck is always the same number/royal figure as the prediction card you pulled aside. This is the OG card trick, so if you’re trying to look like a wizard, you oughta get this one down to a science, er, I mean magic.
3. "Screw Up Proof"
This one may also be called “The Easiest Card Trick,” but hey, we promised you anybody could do these, and this one is no exception — literally all you need to be able to do is count out loud. Plus, this one is extra fun, because it actually fools the
performing it. If you watched Sesame Street as a kid, you will be able to perform this trick.
4. "Pick A Card, Any Card"
Nothing like some good old-fashioned audience participation to get the magic party started, with another OG magic card trick. Ask the audience to pick a card, then shuffle it back into the deck. Wave their hand to get a little magic started, and add a fun factor, then show them the top card — but it’s a red herring. It’s not their card. Then you reveal by fanning out the deck that all the cards are facing up, except for the very one they put in the deck themselves.
5. "Give Me A Number Between 1-10"
Here’s a quick one if you’re trying to get your flirt on in 30 seconds or less. Pull this easy card trick out at the next bar or party you’re at. Your volunteer picks a number between 1-10, you shuffle the deck, and then pull however many cards depending on the number they chose. If they chose 7, they look at the seventh card, memorize it, and shuffle it back into the deck. Not that it matters because you already know which card they chose.
6. "The Mind Reader"
OK, so technically this is a card trick "for kids," but it’s also the quickest of all the card tricks to learn because it requires zero prep and the actual teaching part of it takes 40 whole seconds. Plus, if kids can do it, you can! What was I even doing in college, anyway?
7. "WTF Just Happened"
I’m warning you right now that this one will mess you up a little bit the first time you watch it, because there is some slight of hand involved. But, once you get the hang of it, this card trick is actually not all that hard, and the next few minutes of tutorial are totally worth the mind-boggling reaction you’re going to get from the first unsuspecting victim you use this on.
8. "The Spelling Bee"
You don’t even have to touch the cards on this one, which means there is no excuse not to try this one out! In order for this trick to be successful, you have to rely on your audience member’s ability to be able to spell out numbers, so maybe wait before you debut this one at the local daycare.
9. "The Introvert’s Dream"
This guy specifically made this video for people who were afraid of performing in public so that they could learn a card game. Props to him and his baller accent. This is another classic "find your card in a shuffled deck" trick, and comes with the added charm of being "fail-proof."
10. “The Impossible Three”
This card trick is a great way to get a ton of people involved. Ask for three volunteers and they will each pick a card out of three piles. Then, it’s basically a mind reading trick. Your audience will have no idea how you knew, and they’ll have to believe it’s magic.
11. “The Upside Down Card”
Even though this trick looks complicated, don’t be intimidated to try out it out, because it is actually the perfect card trick for beginners. Once you get the hang of it, you can blow your family and friend’s minds at the next event.
12. “Do As I Do”
How on earth did the magician pick the same favorite card as their volunteer from the audience? Well, with this video you’ll learn how. This fun, and mind-boggling, trick will make any crowd wonder, “How did they pick the same card?!”
13. “Amazing Aces”
It’s nearly impossible to get all four aces in a regular card game, so how is it possible to pull them all out by the snap of a finger?! Well, it’s magic, of course. With the “Amazing Aces” card trick, your volunteer will wonder just how you were able to pull the best four cards, instantly, out of the deck.

my first card trick, my first instructable!
Step 1: The Setup
First, get the 4 aces out of the deck. Then put them on top.
Step 2: Spectators Choice. 🙂
Now ask the spectators to try to cut the deck into four equal piles .
remember the pile with the aces.
Step 4: The Tricky Part
Take a pile without the aces.
Pick it up and deal 3 cards from the top of it into the space where it originally was.
Now deal 1 card from the top to each of the other piles.
now put the pile where it originally was on top of the other three cards.
Step 8: Repeat
Now repeat steps 4-7 with the other piles, but do it with the pile with the aces last or it wont work.
Once you have done it with the last pile (it should have had the aces) flip over the top card of each pile.
Step 10: Done
Voila! Your done!

Question 2 years ago
what is the point of the trick?
Answer 2 years ago
Don’t let the spectators know that the aces start on the top, so supposedly you get the four aces randomly cut to the top of each pile, if that makes sense
Question 3 years ago on Step 7
Ok I got lost right here. Explain a little further please?
Answer 3 years ago
you deal down the 3 cards from the top to where you picked up the pile, then put one card on every other pile. then, where you dealt the top 3 cards first you just drop the pile on top of it
Want to learn a great card trick that will really fool your friends? All you need is a deck of cards to perform this cool trick! You will need one deck of cards. Sometimes we use materials that require adult supervision. like scissors so make sure you have friends and family around whenever you do magic tricks. 1. Take a deck of cards and remove all of the face cards (Jacks, Queens, and Kings) and Aces. Separate the cards by suit (hearts, clubs, spades, diamonds) so you have four piles. Each pile should be in the same order: Jack, Queen, King, Ace.
2. Spread out all four sets of cards to show them to your audience, then gather them back into a pile and turn it face down. Make sure they remain separated and in order in your pile.
3. Cut the cards any number of times (generally four or five times work) and then deal the cards again into four new piles facing down. The trick should perform itself automatically if you’ve followed the instructions.
4. After dealing, turn the piles face-up to reveal that they’ve resorted themselves! All of the Jacks, Queens, Kings, and Aces will be together and separated!

Hi everyone! On this website, I will be talking about one of my favorite things–playing cards. And if you do not have a specific fondness for cards, I will make a deck of cards one of the things that you love most!
My Inspiration For Cool Card Tricks
To tell you guys the truth, I never thought that I would develop such a love for cards. The day that I saw just how spectacular a deck of playing cards could be, was a day that I will never forget . . .
About a year ago, I went to Las Vegas, Nevada with my family. We went to an exceptional magic shop. It was truly unbelievable. The nice man at the counter showed my family and me a bunch of cool card tricks, which I was completely amazed by. And he had been using just an ordinary deck of cards!
From that day on, even up until now, I try to think of cool card tricks that will hopefully blow peoples’ minds. It is truly amazing how with just a simple deck of cards you can do so much. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of card tricks out there, and many of them are really awesome.
Card Tricks Revealed!
After reading the first four paragraphs of this post, I am in no doubt that you want to learn some magic tricks, and that too for free. Do not worry, my friends. You have come to the exact right website for you, where I promise to show and reveal the secrets of an immense amount of cool card tricks which will be truly mind-boggling. I am sure that right after you see the tutorial you will be able to fool your siblings, parents, friends, etc. with these amazing card tricks.
Personally, my favorite type of card tricks are those which require absolutely ZERO setup. And trust me, I will demonstrate a numerous amount of those tricks, and reveal the secrets of how to do them. I will also show a titanic number of setup tricks, which are also obviously really amazing. I will not show many gimmick card tricks because I know that most people do not like those type of card tricks very much. I can understand this, because I have to genuinely admit that I do not very much have a fondness for gimmick card tricks because they do waste some cards or sometimes even a full deck.
I am also going to perform most of the requests that you guys give me about which magic tricks to do and reveal. I will try my best to get through all of the requests of course. You guys can email me at [email protected] All in all, you will be learning how to do quite a lot of tricks on this website!
OTHER Things That I Will Teach You!
In addition, I will teach you folks some basic essentials of playing cards, such as knowing how to shuffle the deck. I will definitely teach you the riffle shuffle (my absolute favorite shuffle), as well as of course the regular shuffle, ordinary cuts in the deck, and some false cuts. These real and fake shuffles and cuts are extremely important for cool card tricks.
I will also teach you some other fun things that you can do with a deck of cards. For example, I will teach you how to mark a deck of cards. Then you can go out and fool pretty much any person in the world saying that you can read their mind. Marking decks can lead to several other cool card tricks.
I can guarantee that you will have a great time with my website. You will get to see me perform awesome card tricks and reveal them, get taught how to jumble up and fake shuffle a deck, and will also be taught how to mark a deck of cards. And guys, this is not all. I will be showing you many other things that you can do with cards. Just remember to stick around, and at least every couple of days come back to this website, so you can see my new posts. I am certain that you will love every single one of them. Thanks for your time!

Whether you are a child starting out in magic, or you are older and want to perform card tricks for kids, this is a good place to start.
Here’s an easy simple card trick you can learn in a two minute video.
Key Card Trick
Here are three more super easy card tricks to learn if you are either a kid or looking to perform some easy tricks for kids when starting out. One of these tricks involves a key card, which is one of the most basic tricks you can learn, and may be even the easiest card trick. (Don’t worry, I’m not exposing anything which isn’t already openly available on the internet to learn.) The key card trick is usually the first one that is usually taught, even in more advanced card magic books. (Although they’ll usually add a more advanced element to it, which I’ll get to below). The key card principle is actually used in more advanced magic, so it’s good to learn the basics of it when starting.
The Key Card Trick is the most basic plot in card magic, losing in the card in the deck and finding it, and using no sleight of hand. Another super easy basic card trick is the 21 card trick.
And don’t worry, we will get more advanced.
When you’re ready to move on from those, we’ll get slightly harder tricks next.
The Best Simple Card Tricks
To be honest, it’s harder to find simple card tricks that are going to be cool as well. Remember, most good card tricks will require sleight of hand or some more advanced principle. But nevertheless, when starting out, there still are some tricks that are classics of magic since they give you the most bang for your effort. These will be the best of the easier card tricks. There are a lot of card tricks that might involve math or some other procedure which might be boring to an audience (unless you are really entertaining!).
There are some people out there with phenomenal presentational skills and the ability to entertain, and I have heard they can take even the simplest key card trick and turn it into something fun to watch. So, since these card tricks will be a little bit on the easy side, it might be best to present them as well as possible and work on your presentational skills. Since, that’s what a lot of magic can be, presentation.
You Do As I Do
You Do as I Do is a classic card trick and a very easy working one, with a fairly powerful result. One will need two decks. And this one takes a slight bit of audience management.
The Spelling Card Trick
This trick is a variation of the key card trick I was talking about earlier. It’s usually taught in most beginner card magic books. You end up spelling to the spectators card after looking through the deck and either pretending to show them its still there, or pretending that you can’t find it.
or watch the video below.

Self Working Card Tricks
There is a category of easy card tricks that are called self working card tricks. Self-working card tricks are called self-working because the working of the trick causes the magic to happen without any sleight of hand. This means the performer can focus solely on performance, and not worry about sleight of hand or having to do any moves. Some argue that there are no self working tricks, since it still requires a level of performance, entertainment, and misdirection to perform any trick successfully. But for simple purposes, a self working trick is one in which the trick itself creates the magic with no fancy moves required.
The drawbacks to these and that usually self-working card tricks will not be as powerful or as impressive as ones that involve sleight of hand or another skill. But there still are some good ones. I’ll get to that later. Aldo Colombini once remarked in his Self-Working Packet Tricks DVD that he had gone through another person’s self working packet tricks, and there was only one that was any good. And even then, it was still not a super trick.
Some other downfalls, are that some self-working tricks may require a lot of memorization. So you really have to remember what to do throughout the trick and proceed to the next step without hesitation. In card tricks sometimes there are many steps involved. Also, there may be a need for a setup before the trick, and sometimes even an elaborate setup. Sometimes this is ok, but also sometimes this can be difficult. This is especially true if you are performing impromptu on the spot, such as at a friend’s house, and you can’t perform because you don’t have the right deck or setup of the cards. If you know you are going to be performing ahead of time, that’s fine, but if it’s on the spot you won’t be able to perform. Also, this might require you to carry your deck or props around with you, which can be burdensome for some.
One final obstacle with self-working card tricks are that many require an audience member to handle the cards and do the work. Sometimes this can be a problem because people will not understand what you are asking them to do, or someone might drop the deck or mishandle the cards. Just know that lay people are usually not good at handling cards. I’ve had people deal off the bottom of the deck, flip cards over, etc. You have to really have good audience management skills, and even then sometimes anything can happen.
This is why sleight of hand is usually the best to know if you are going to be performing impromptu with borrowed objects, you are doing repeat performances, or you don’t like to have to spend the time and effort to set up and prepare before the trick. But, there are still some great self-working card tricks out there that don’t require any setup or special decks. I’ll be getting to those soon. Here’s a list of some of the best self-working card tricks.
One of the best self-working and easy card tricks might be Gemini Twins, and it involves no setup. This is already taught on the internet in various places for free, so here’s a video with the instructions.
