Find your crossdresser or transgender bra size in 3 easy steps! Let’s face it, women’s bra sizes are confusing! This guide will help you determine your band size and cup size so that you may shop for the perfect fitting bra.
Step 1: First, find your transgender bra band size.
Measure your chest circumference approximately two inches below the nipples. Round the measurement to the nearest whole number of inches. Then, add an additional 4 inches if you got an even number. Add an additional 5 inches if it was an odd number. This is your bra band size.
Example: If you measured 32.25″, you would round to 32″ and add 4 more inches to get 36″. If you measured 34.75″, you would round to 35″ and add 5 more inches to get 40″.
Why is this so confusing? Well, bra sizing was originally measured across the fullest part of the breast. Then, after WWII, the whole world switched to measuring just beneath the breast. However, US bra manufactures refused to adjust their bra sizing, so we have to add 4 or 5 inches. The “Plus 4” method was devised as a temporary fix that has persisted to this day.
Step 2: Measure your bust.
While wearing your breast forms, measure across the fullest part of your bust. This is your bust measurement.
Step 3: Determine your cup size.
Step 3: Determine your cup size.
Subtract your band size from your bust size, and then use the chart below to determine your cup size.
Time to Go Bra Shopping!
That’s it! Now that you know your band size and cup size, you’re ready to shop for a perfect fitting crossdresser or transgender bra. The DressTech crossdresser store carries a wide selection of pocketed bras for the crossdressing, drag, and transgender communities. These stunning bras feature sturdy construction and hidden pockets to keep your breast forms secure. They are perfect bras for trans women.
Is the topic too intimidating for questions ? So might be.
And since my sincere wish is to help. Use the comment’s sections should you need to ask something not covered.
A: Physiologically, not at all. I don’t have any of the organs that would require tampons on those days.
Q: What about pads and panty-liners ?
A: I use them too but the topic is tampons.
A: Urban legends. A properly lubricated tampon will always come out. Be it by the string, be it by a natural bowel movement. Just don’t rush, there’s no need to push like a maniac, it just slides out.
Q: Will a tampon slide out by accident ?
A: Had a couple of close calls when too much matter was pushing it to the exit. A properly placed one without too much lubricant holds in place mighty well. In case of doubt, a panty-liner and a tight girdle will cope with anxiety.
A: A presence that increases with time as the tampon expands. Then mild reminders. A sort of fulness, accomplishment, safety and peace of mind. Kind of being part of a secret club of sorts.
Q: A turn-on ?
A: Aw c’mon. Of course not, this serves an entirely different purpose. Then face it, it does not have nor the size nor the consistency of something that eventually could.
All a bunch of reasons I might wear one outside of the usual timeframe.
Q: What brand, type ?
A: What can be found at the local supermarket in big conveniently priced boxes. Nothing fancy or special. No applicator. The highest flow (bigger) the better, more feeling, holds better in place.
Q: No applicator ?
A: Precisely. Applicators are difficult to get rid of. Plain tampons flush without problems while additional hardware has to be disposed of in a stealth manner.
With the right method, applicator is not a necessity. This is how my Fairy taught me.
Of course I have tried models with applicator. They are pretty easy however they do not allow a proper lubrication of the entire tampon, specifically the lower part. It’s quite an exercice to pull the tampon out of the tube, lube it and push it back, ready for insertion.
Q: Aren’t you ashamed ?
A: Not the slightest. I don’t steal the tampons that I use. I buy them with hard earned money.
Q: What is the procedure ?
A: Best case first. Proper bowel movement. Shower. All cozy and dry.
Wet wipes, Vaseline, ear-bud, tampon at hand.
Pop the tampon open, dip it’s bottom and top sides in Vaseline. Smear it all over the surface.
Use a wet-wipe to clean the surroundings of insertion, well very well.
Lift a leg on something like a bathtub or the toilet bowl. Relax. Slowly, gently insert the tampon as far as it would go. Push gently in the process, it facilitates the entry.
Then, with the help of the ear-bud push it even further, well past the sphincter.
Ear-buds are cotton covered, they hold well on the tampon back end. Remove the ear-bud, excess lubricant with a wet wipe.
All left-over hardware can be safely disposed of in a minimalistic volume, wet wipes flush well.
Q: Isn’t that rather complex ?
A: Are you that retarded ?
Q: Tampon swap ?
A: Preventively clean the area with a wet wipe. Locate the string. Hold it with a toilet paper sheet and pull gently in a position above the toiet bowl to avoid any risk of pollution. At some point it will come out, right in the toilet paper sheet. Dispose of it, clean thoroughly and same player shoot again.
Q: Lost string, lost tampon, alternate ejection method ?
A: Do not panic, it will come out. Just wait for the next call of nature, there’s sufficient stuff to push it out. Just don’t hurry, don’t force, it’ll all happen by itself.
However have a look, check that the tampon has been ejected before you flush the whole mess out.
Q: Do you feel normal with all this ?
A: Why should you care ?
Q: Something else to add ?
A: Sissies are chosen by Fairies. Resistance is futile.
I love you, I love you all !

Do girdles and longline bras help?
Over the weekend, I received a comment to my Size 14? post from Darianna. I replied to her comment with another comment, but I am expanding that reply here today.
Darianna wrote, “Lately I have become interested in dressing more classy and sophisticated. I just want to ask you, ‘Does wearing a girdle and longline bra help very much? Should I buy a Rago body briefer to make slipping on a dress easier or for how it shapes my male body?’
“Thank you, I respect your opinion.”
Before I answer your questions Darianna, I want to say that my reply is what works for me and your mileage may, and probably will vary.
Dresses are designed for someone who is curvy, so I wear foundation garments to give me some curves. The longline bra lifts my breasts to make them more perky and tightens the area below my breasts to narrow my waistline. The girdle also flattens my belly and narrows my waistline.
Both the bra and girdle redistribute some of my fat to add to my hips and bust. Note that my natural breasts are big for a boy and nearly fill a B cup bra without assistance.
Anyway, my foundation garments do a good job of giving me a woman’s figure that currently fits in a size 14 dress. not a baggy size 14 dress, but rather a size 14 dress that clings and shows off my curves.
Another note: Going from the size 18 and 16 (my sizes for decades) to a size 14 has eliminated all my back fat, which also eliminated the Spanx cami I had to wear to smooth out my back fat.
Without foundation garments, I would have to purchase larger sizes to fit my non-curvaceous body, that is, to fit around my waistline. Problem is that the larger sizes are still designed for a curvy body, so the larger size would fit my boyish waistline, but would be too big in the bust and hips — not a look I am trying to achieve.
So for me today, a girdle and a longline bra provide the best possible femulation.
Regarding body briefers, I have found that they do not do a good job of shaping me. I need something that is not so brief in its shaping powers — something more substantial like a longline bra and girdle.
If you are new to foundation garments, I recommend getting fitted by a pro in order to get the correct sizes. Look up local lingerie stores in the Yellow Pages and feel them out over the phone. Be up front and tell them you crossdress. Most are more than willing to help you out (and take your money), but occasionally you may run into a store that is not so open-minded and it is better to find that out over the phone rather than in person.
Wearing lingerie is a guaranteed way to feel feminine. Best of all, it’s something you can indulge in on a daily basis.
What are the lingerie items every crossdresser or transgender woman should own?
Read on for my top 10 picks! (And then I want to hear yours!)
1. Basic black or nude bra
Every girl needs a basic bra, so a simple nude or black bra is a must. If you’re having trouble finding your size, try the Leading Lady Lightly Padded Contour Underwire Bra. It comes in a wide range of sizes that would fit most crossdressers and transgender women. (Band sizes 36-54, cup sizes A-G)
2. Panty gaff
For a flat and feminine look, a panty gaff is your best friend. A gaff, of course, is an undergarment designed to offer smoothing up front. Here are a few options:
3. Shaping camisole
Who can’t use a little slimming in the middle? A shaping camisole will help trim your waist and belly without squeezing you like a corset or girdle. I like the camisoles from Yummie, which go up to a size 3x.
4. Padded panty
If you crave curves (and who doesn’t?), padded panties offer an instant solution. Your options range from light lifting to full-on hip and butt shaping. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Light shaping – Butt Lifting Padded Panties By TrueShapers
- Medium shaping – The Glamour Gal Silicone Hip and Butt Padded Shaper
- Full shaping – Veronicas by Classic Curves
5. Nude or black pantyhose
While women don’t wear pantyhose as often as they used to, pantyhose looks more polished than bare skin and enhances the appearance of your legs. Your lingerie wardrobe should include a pair of black and/or nude hose.
6. Slinky nightie
There’s nothing like slipping into a slinky nightgown to make you feel extra feminine. Whether you prefer long or short, you should own at least one silky nightie. Or better yet, buy a few in different lengths and colors.
7. Basic panties
Sometimes simple is best! Whether you prefer thongs, bikinis, or briefs, you should own at least a few basic panties.
8. Sexy bra and panty set
While the basics are important, half the fun of lingerie is expressing your sensuous side. That’s why no wardrobe is complete without at least one super sexy bra and panty set.
The Nubra is an adhesive bra that’s fantastic for creating cleavage. Since it’s backless and strapless, it can be worn alone or under another bra. To learn how to create feminine cleavage with the Nubra, see my tutorial here.
10. Silk or satin robe
A silk or satin robe is a classic boudoir piece that will make you feel ultra feminine. You should have at least one so you have something sensuous to slip into when you are at home.
Let’s talk lingerie!
It was hard to narrow this list to just 10 items, so I’d love to hear your thoughts…
What are YOUR must-have lingerie pieces? Please share in the comments below!
My name is Bert and one of the most embarrassing moment of my life transformed my whole life which I will cherish forever. It really opened my eyes to a whole new world for both me and my lovely wife. I have been married for over 3 years and I am a straight guy who always fancied women. But after this particular incident, I was completely transformed.
It was quite a normal day as usual. I woke up, had breakfast and took a shower. Then as I was getting ready to go to work, I heard a loud bang outside. I called my wife but she had already left for work. I got curious to check out what made such a racket outside.
I only had a towel wrapped around me and I proceeded to go the back yard. It was quite breezy outside and just as I got out to inspect what happened, the wind sucked the door closed catching my towel in the process. I tried to open the door but it was too jammed with the towel somehow.
So, here I was standing at my own backyard in all my glory and the door was completely jammed. I didn’t know what I was going to do to get out of it. Going around the front completely naked would be just to ridiculous as the street would be busy with people leaving for work. I started to get a bit nervous , standing there without any clothes on and just covering with my hands.
Then I started looking around and my eyes caught sight of my wife’s undergarments hanging on the line. I was quite nervous, so I rushed and grabbed one of her panties. I had to cover up with something as there was no other alternative. I put the panty on and just wished no one would see me like this. Then taking a deep breath, I ran for the front door as fast as I could. Luckily, I managed to get to the front door and finally inside the house without making any scene. When I got inside, I had a quick laugh and couldn’t believe what had really happened with me.
I went to the kitchen to get some coffee and for a moment I completely forgot I was still wearing my wife’s panty. I only noticed it after I started feeling a little aroused from the silkiness of the panty against my male parts. It was crazy but I was really enjoying how the panty felt on my body.
This really got me quite curious and I thought that maybe wearing my wife’s panties was turning me on somehow. The day was getting quite adventurous and I felt like skipping work that day, so I called in to work and said I was going to take a day off because I wasn’t feeling very well.
The rest of the day, I browsed through my wife’s wardrobe and tried a lot of her stuffs. I had no idea where it was coming from but the excitement was something I had never felt before. I tried on her pantyhose, bra, some more panties and few of her lovely dresses. I looked at myself in the mirror and I felt so feminine and my whole body was experience such a tingling sensation like I had never experienced before.
I completely lost track of time and only when I looked at the clock, I noticed how long I had been dressing up in my wife’s stuffs. I put everything back in her closet and went to the kitchen to get sometime to eat. I just couldn’t stop thinking about how lovely it felt to wear those things of my wife.
When my wife was back from her work, I told her about the morning incident where I got locked out without any clothes and how I put on one of her panties to get in. She really got a good laugh and asked me if I enjoyed wearing her panties. I admitted I did. I could see that her eyes had gotten bigger with excitement as I knew she enjoyed role playing a lot in the bed room.
She then asked if I wanted to put on one of her outfits for her and I said why not. She was super excited. She took my hand and we both rushed to the bedroom. Then she started taking out all these stuffs from her wardrobe, a bra, panty, pantyhose, a lovely blue gown and a pair of black heels. She told me to put them on. I got a little nervous as this was something I had never done before but she seemed to be really enjoying herself seeing me like that.
After my wife helped me to get dressed, she looked at me and told me I also needed some nice makeup to go with the outfit. She said she wanted me to have a full experience of being a woman from head to toe. Then she started applying makeup on me, which too was a completely new experience for me. She put on some foundation on my face, then applied some eyeliner and lastly added pink lipstick on my lips.
She also had a few hair wigs from Halloween and decided to make me wear it too. She went to the store room and was back with a nice long hair wig in her hands. She helped me put them on and flipped my hair to one side. Then she zipped the back of my dress all the way up and I was so excited to wear a gown for the first time.
When I looked into the mirror, I couldn’t believe it was me. She was surprised at how good I looked as well. Then she told me to put on the heels and I did. I was completely mesmerized by how I looked and how I felt dressed as a woman. It was quite wonderful and I felt totally different than my normal self.
My wife knew I was enjoying getting feminized as she could see my budge under the dress. She then held me near, kissed my lips and we both made love in the bed. It was one of the most intense love that we had ever made and she also noticed it.
After we were done, she then asked me to go in the living room. Walking in heels was not easy but I managed to go downstairs and in the living room. We then sat on the sofa, drinking some coffee and she asked how I felt being dressed like a woman for the first time and how it felt to walk in heels and so on. We just talked for hours.
She even joked that we should head out to town as girlfriends and see if I can pass. It was crazy how a simple incident completely lead to a totally different scenario and that is how I became a crossdresser. After that, my crossdressing journey started and it has been a wonderful experience since then.
A fundamental accessory for a male-to-female transgender is a set of breast forms. There are several methods for creating breast, but by far the best is silicone forms. I recently acquired a pair that is absolutely fabulous. (The form on top)
I haven’t always had silicone forms. In fact, probably like most young transgendered, I started with rags, stockings or some small article of clothing stuffed in a bra to give some shape to my upper body. I may have even tried tissues at some time in the past. Somewhere along the way, I obtained some foam falsies (am I dating myself here?), providing a little better shape, but the result was far from realistic. Remember the movie where a gal wears a pair of falsies into the pool, and they end up floating on top of the water?
My next step was water-filled balloons. They actually have pretty good movement and weight, but their shape sucks, and they can leak or break. On more than one occasion, I ended up with a wet top and no breast. Talk about a disappointing wet t-shirt contest! I found it necessary to carry a spare or else end the night early.
Finally I decided to try silicone forms. I went with an economical pair first. They had a decent shape, the right weight, and a nice movement with an active body. I tried the larger size first, but they gave me the appearance of intentionally stuffing my bra. Since most clothing is designed for a B cup and my frame is fairly small, I then tried a smaller size, which was better. Unfortunately, though, those forms could not be adhered to my body. With a little active dancing, sometimes they would migrate (think little old lady). On one occasion at Casa Loma, my silicone form went as far south as the floor. I hope not too many people saw that.
As nice as the old ones were, I wanted forms that would adhere, especially after the Casa incident. After looking around, I came across a pair that was just what I was looking for. I just loved the shape of them, and their non-glossy surface was a plus, so there’s no reflection if you wear a thin top. (I actually saw this once on a gg.) So I sent for them.
Now that I have had a chance to try out GB’s forms, I am really pleased. These forms are soft, light weight, look and feel incredibly real under a blouse or thin sweater, and I love the way they move–much more realistic.
For adhesive use Hollister Medical Adhesive 7730. This works and the adhesive can be removed from the breast form with Walker Adhesive Remover. If more than one layer of adhesive is on the breast form, removing it can be time consuming. Let the remover soak in awhile before trying to remove and use tissues. I try to use the adhesive only when absolutely necessary, like with backless dresses or see-thru back dresses and blouses or running back dresses that would show bra straps.
Take it from someone who’s been around a while–this truly is a case of getting what you pay for. I could have saved a lot of time, effort, and embarrassment (dropping to the floor) by going with the top of the line adhesive. Get them on and get out there, is that like "get er done"?
Beginners Steps to creating the right body proportions. Click here
Clean breast forms with a little soap and water after using. If you used adhesive the cleaning task becomes more diffucult.
Don’t use adhesive on forms if it isn’t needed.
A regular bra will work with most dresses and blouses.
A backless longline strapless bra will work with a lot of strapless, low cut back, or halter dresses available at JC Penny’s.(white and black)
A halter bra will work with a halter dress but most do not hold forms very securely. They can be tricky to put on. For a real puzzle try a crisscross bra.
Of all the topics I cover on this blog, lingerie is definitely the most popular.
And no wonder! There’s nothing like indulging your female self in a lacy bra or silk nightie.
While half the fun of lingerie is expressing your own personal style, there are certain “rules” worth keeping in mind.
Are you following “the rules?”
Find out by reviewing my top 7 lingerie rules – specifically for crossdressers and transgender women.
Rule #1: Know thy bra size
Most women wear the wrong bra size, so there’s a good chance that you might be too. A bra that doesn’t fit right is uncomfortable and creates unattractive bumps and bulges. No girl needs that!
Your best option is to be professionally fitted for your bra size. (Don’t be afraid to go in for a fitting. Many lingerie shops are transgender-friendly, especially if you call ahead.) I also wrote an entire post on finding your bra size here.
Rule #2: Avoid visible panty lines
A bra strap peeking out of your top can be sexy. Visible panty lines? Not so much. Here are 5 ways to avoid VPL (visible panty lines):
- Make sure your panties fit right. If they’re too tight, they’ll dig in and create bulges. Too loose and they’ll wrinkle and bunch up.
- Try seamless underwear for a smoother look. Seamless panties are made without seams or trimmings that can show through clothes.
- Wear a thong. No visible panty lines there!
- Go for boyshorts. Boyshorts might not sound girly, but they’re actually really cute and don’t create panty lines.
- Avoid cotton panties. Cotton undies have a tendency to bunch up.
Rule #3: Coordinate your bra and panties
While the rule about matching your shoes and bag is outdated, your bra and panties should look like a set. Mismatched lingerie looks sloppy and even if nobody sees it but you, why not look your best? The colors don’t have to be an exact match, but they should at least coordinate.
Rule #4: Choose high quality fabrics
Since lingerie is worn next to your body, fabric makes all the difference in the world. High quality fabrics feel great, lay more smoothly, and last longer. Cheap fabrics wear out quickly and can even trap odors. (Eww!) Look for lingerie constructed with quality fabrics like jersey, silk, rayon, and cotton.
Rule #5: Know when to say goodbye
Do you own any ratty panties or stretched out bras? If so, toss them immediately. It’s hard to feel sexy and feminine in worn out lingerie, so get rid of anything that’s lost its luster. Most lingerie items need to be replaced every 18 months or so.
Rule #6: Own more than one bra
To extend your bra’s life span, let your bra rest a day between wearings to keep the elastic from stretching out. If you only own one bra, that means it’s time to shop for another one (or 10!).
Rule #7: Buy lingerie that fits your lifestyle
Do you have a bunch of sexy underthings, yet nothing practical to wear under your clothes? Or maybe you lack certain feminizing shapewear pieces. Lingerie should fit your lifestyle, so take stock. Are you missing anything from these categories?
- Basics – T-shirt bra, seamless panties, pantyhose, etc.
- Shapewear – Control cami, girdle, padded panties, pocketed bra for breast forms, etc.
- Sleepwear – Nightgown, robe, sleep bra, etc.
- Sexy – Lace bra and panties, body suit, garter, etc.
- Activewear – Sports bra, moisture wicking panties, etc.

Sometimes a girl just wants to show off – and what better way to do so then with fabulous, feminine cleavage?
Here are the 3 most popular “cleavage creation” methods for your male to female makeover:
The Nubra is my favorite cleavage creator. It’s fast and easy and will give you awesome cleavage – even if you have ZERO breasts!
Here’s how to do it:
1. Get a Nubra
The Nubra is a backless, strapless “stick-on” bra that adheres directly to the breasts. The cups are attached separately and then clasped, pulling the breasts together to create cleavage.
You can order the Nubra online or find it at Macy’s, Nordstroms and other department stores for around $30. Look for the Feather-Lite or Ultra-Lite styles.
2. Prep your chest
The Nubra requires a clean, smooth surface to adhere to. Shave your chest the night before and wash with soap and water immediately before applying the Nubra.
3. Attach the bra cups
Unclasp the Nubra so the cups are separated. Adhere the cups to your breasts, making sure they are positioned symmetrically on each side.
HINT: The further the cups are placed from each other, the more the cleavage you’ll be able to create.
4. Connect the clasps
Bending over slightly, pull your breasts together and clasp the bra in the middle. Viola – instant cleavage!
But we’re not done yet …
5. Put on a pushup bra and breast forms
Unless you have large breasts, you’ll want to add some curves to your cleavage. The Nubra should be worn under a pushup bra and breast forms. Place the breast forms in the outer bottom corners of your bra and tighten the bra straps for extra lift.
And there you have it – sexy cleavage that is begging to be shown off!
UPDATE: A few ladies have asked if this method works if you are thin or don’t have much breast tissue. Absolutely! Check out this transgender cleavage tutorial I found that incorporates the Nubra:
