I am currently working on a collection of littlest pet shop clothing for my one-girl-band band, and I wanted to share my process with you to help you make your own designs as well. I have always loved the idea of having a small business. I have always been able to make a living doing things that I love. I have always been interested in making clothing and working with other artists.
The process of making clothing, especially clothing as small as little girls, is really simple. A lot of times we look at what we want and what we want to be, but we don’t have the budget or the time to make clothing that large. So we look at what we can do as a sewing group (like a craft group) and we figure out how to achieve the look we want.
In order to sew clothes as small as little girls, you need to have a good pair of scissors. It can be hard to get the small scissors, as they have to be small and sharp and not be too hard to use. So you need to learn to use them.
Some people get lazy and just buy small scissors and just use the little one more to cut off the excess fabric. I know that is not the best way to do it, but its what I do.
I think a lot of people have a hard time finding a pair of scissors that fit their hands and the fabric they are cutting. Because of the way we dress, having a pair of scissors that is just right is important to us. We like to have things that are easy to cut (like the exact same size scissors) and not too difficult to sharpen, so that means we use small scissors that are just right for our hands.
We also use small sewing scissors that are just right to use on the fabric, because we are more likely to mess up things that way, rather than having to chop out the excess and cut more than one section of the fabric.
How we dress also affects how our pets look. We think they are cute, but our pet shops don’t have a large selection of pet outfits, so they have to make them up individually. Also, we don’t have the room for a sewing machine to make clothes because our pet-loving pet shop staff are much more of a “waste of time” than we are. So we have to make them ourselves with simple tools.
The best way to make clothing you love is to use the tools you already have. You don’t need a sewing machine, but if you don’t have the right tools to make clothing you love, you will become frustrated and frustrated and frustrated. You can make clothing with scraps of jeans and sweatshirts, but you can’t make clothing with scraps of jeans and sweatshirts.
What we actually need is clothing for our pet friends. So we look around and see what we have. We need more than anything a pet costume, a pet hat, or a pet shirt. Well, we have a pet hat. We also have a shirt that makes our pets look like assholes. So instead of asking our staff what they need, we ask them what they have. We look at what we have and figure out what we need to make ourselves look awesome.

DIY LPS Doll House Accessories: How to Make a Tiny Tree House
This tiny DIY LPS treehouse was so much fun to make! A Pringles can is the perfect size for a tiny little dollhouse treehouse for small dolls and pets like Littlest Pet Shop or Shopkins. The miniature treehouse might be a little too small for LOL dolls, however.
I used an X-acto knife to carve out the center, so kids be sure to ask a parent for help when cutting. Then use construction and scrapbook paper to give it detail, along with an easy miniature dollhouse flower pot along the window. The flowers are made from bendaroos, but you can also make miniature flowers using craft foam. Check out my other post (DIY Miniature Dollhouse Garden Tutorial) HERE on how to do that.

Before I became an author and blogger, I made my living from home as a full-time eBay seller of Littlest Pet Shops. It was a ton of fun and very rewarding.
Everybody loves LPS, kids and adults alike. It’s just something most people don’t talk about.
Adults collect them, kids play with them and most LPS fans get rather obsessed with having certain pets. We love to dress them up and play with them like Barbie dolls.
So, of course you have an LPS fan in your home (unless you don’t know about them; in which case, welcome to the secret underground world of LPS!)
My biggest tip for this Littlest Pet Shop homemade soap craft is if you use pets you already have around your home, do NOT use any of these pets here. That post will show you the rarest (and most expensive pets) and you do NOT want to get those pets wet in any way, in order that you can sell them at a later date.
You can give these as a gift or make them for your kids. I bet your kids will WANT to take a bath with THESE fun toy soaps! Either way, they are such an EASY soap making recipe without lye to create with your little ones.
*Please note, if you are giving these as a gift, find out if the recipient likes the newer style LPS. Most children DO NOT like the newer style LPS (with the bigger eyes). If that’s the case, you’ll want to purchase the older style pets on eBay instead.
Here’s a side by side comparison of the old style LPS compared to the new style LPS. See how the eyes are completely different? If your child only likes the older style, be sure to check the eyes.
DIY How to Make Littlest Pet Shop Homemade Soap with Essential Oils
(most popular are always cats and dogs)
- 3-5 drops of your choice essential oil (Lavender would be a great choice in this one)
- Stir stick (I like to use popsicle sticks for easy cleanup)
- Rubbing alcohol
Directions Step by Step:
Step 1. Cut your block soap into ice cube size pieces
Step 2. Fill your measuring cup up to the 1 cup line with your soap cubes
Step 3. Microwave your glass measuring cup of soap at 50% power for about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted
Step 4. Add in 3-5 drops of your favorite essential oils
Step 5. Spray your soap mold and figurine with your rubbing alcohol
Step 6. Place one of your Littlest Pet Shop figures in the bottom of each soap mold
Step 7. Fill your soap mold up with your melted soap
Step 8. Spray again with rubbing alcohol (to prevent air bubbles) and set in the freezer for about 30 minutes
Step 9. When your soap is hardened, stretch the sides of the mold and push up on the bottom to remove your soaps
Ever since I got my tablet over a year ago, Grace has also shared it and made use of the apps. Her ‘go-to’ favourite game has always been the Littlest Pet Shop and I can completely understand why. She loves the fact that she can feed, look after and play with the pets which includes animals such as penguins, dogs, cats, ponies and sheep. And believe me they are SO cute.
When we were asked to review some of the latest Littlest Pet Shop toys, I knew that Grace would more than likely squeal when I told her – and she did! What I didn’t realise what just how wonderfully generous they would be to her too.
If you have never heard of Littlest Pet Shop, the TV programme follows Blythe Baxter and her move to the city with her Dad. They live above the Littlest Pet Shop and Blythe finds out that she can talk to the pets. They have lots of adventures, and often have to deal with the Biskit Twins along with their father – all of whom are rather mean and own the larger shop up the street. The third TV series of Littlest Pet Shop is due to launch on the Pop channel in February 2015 in the UK.
We got sent Blythe’s bedroom, the treat shop and . And Grace LOVES them. She loves their cute faces and the fact that Blythe is there to look after them. She has made up story after story and spent hours playing in her room with all 3 sets.
There are a number of reasons I am impressed. All of them are interchangeable each with two different scenes/backgrounds so you can choose which story you would like to tell. All of the pets are colourful and cute and will make any child who loves this type of toy very happy indeed. The sets fit easily and neatly on top of each other and will turn individual pieces into a small town. On top of all that they are easy to construct – whilst I did most of Blythe’s bedroom, Grace put the Spa and Treat Bar together without any help from me. You are able to customise the sets as well by putting your own mark on them using the small hearts, flowers and other pieces into the little holes provided as well as using the stickers inside the packets.
Grace loves these sets so much that she regularly borrows my iPad and makes up little stories. I have included one of her ‘shorter’ ones at just over 9 minutes long (!) below. I have to admit that it is rather cute.
Disclosure: We were sent these Littlest Pet Shop sets for the purpose of this review, as well as being paid a small fee. All sets were reviewed by Grace, aged 7 and her opinions, our photos and the video are all our own and have not been influenced in any way.
