How to visit the atlantis in dubai

In this article, you’ll learn about how to get to Atlantis The Palm by The Dubai Tram. It’s very easy.

Getting around Dubai is fairly easy given the various means of transportation it boasts — the Dubai Metro, the Dubai Tram, the Dubai Bus, the Dubai Taxi and the Dubai Trolley, for example. But how do you get to the Atlantis via the Tram?

Most means of transportation in Dubai (e.g. the Metro, the Tram, the Dubai Water Bus, and the Dubai Trolley) cover only specific areas of the city. In this way, travelers who are traveling in a means of transportation to an area that means of transportation does not cover transfer to another means of transportation to complete their journey. You shouldn’t worry about the fare when transferring from one Dubai’s public means of land transportation to another as it’s considered as one trip and thus you get charged once. How you can transfer is limited however.

For journeys whose maximum durations are 90 minutes or distances 3km, you have only one transfer. For journeys whose maximum durations are 180 minutes, you have three transfers. Transfers are only allowed for a one-way journey and you must check out of the means you’re transferring from and check in to the one you’re transferring to within 30 minutes, if your transfer must be valid.

With the foregoing established, it must be mentioned, at this juncture, that there is no direct way of getting to Atlantis The Palm by the Tram given that it covers only the Marina area and the distance between the given area and Al Sufouh, while the Atlantis is at the peak of the Palm Jumeirah.

So, how can you benefit from the distance to the Atlantis the Tram can cover?

How To Visit The Atlantis by The Dubai Tram

First up, the answer to the thematic question is technically relative on the basis of your location. If you’re in the Tram’s route, all you need do is take the Tram to the Palm Jumeirah Tram Station. Find your way to the Gateway Station. Walking can suck up 5 – 10 minutes. At the Gateway Station, take the Dubai monorail to the last station, which is the Atlantis Aquaventure Station. Outside the station to your left is the Atlantis’s entrance. You can’t miss it. If you’re visiting the Atlantis by the taxi, you might need a pass.

A one-way trip from the Gateway Station to the Atlantis Aquaventure Station costs AED 20, while a round or to-and-fro trip costs AED 30. And the journey from the Gateway Station to the Atlantis takes about 15 minutes.

Please note. If you’re on the Dubai Metro’s red line. Take the Metro to the Damac Properties Metro Station. Find your way to the Dubai Marina Tram Station, the closest Tram’s station to the Damac Properties Metro Station. Take the tram to the Palm Jumeirah Tram Station. If you’re in the Metro’s green line, take the Metro to the transfer station closest to you (Union or BurJuman Station) and transfer to the red line. If you’re at a place that is not close to the Metro’s or Tram’s route, you can use either the Dubai Bus or Taxi to get to the Metro or Tram route and follow the foregoing guide.

While you can get to the Atlantis from the Gateway Station by the taxi at a higher fare, tourists recommend the Monorail in that it gives you a better view of the Palm Island than the taxi.

Learn about how to reach Atlantis The Palm in Dubai by the Dubai Metro. It very easy. Only read carefully and you’d certainly know how.

Dubai boasts a variety of means of transportation that makes getting around Dubai relatively easy. Most of Dubai’s means of transportation such as the Dubai Metro, the Dubai Tram, and the Dubai Trolley cover only specific areas of the Arabian city. Although, the Dubai Taxi covers all of Dubai.

With the foregoing in mind, how can one get to Atlantis The Palm via the Dubai Metro? As said, most Dubai transport means cover only specific areas of Dubai resulting in transfers from one mode of transportation to another; say, from the Dubai Metro to the Dubai Bus. In this way and for the record, there is no direct way of getting to Atlantis The Palm by the Metro. But there’s no need to worry.

You shouldn’t worry because while the metro won’t take you directly to Atlantis, you can still get to Palm Jumeirah which houses Atlantis by transferring from the metro to the tram at the same rate you’d spend if you did all the journey on the Metro.

While the foregoing option will help you save some money, the trouble with it is that the Metro will first convey you past Nakhlat Jumeira Street to Dubai Marina, if you were coming from around Downtown Dubai (or Burj Khalifa) along Sheikh Zayed Road. This means you’d spend more time. For the record, Nakhlat Jumeira Street is a direct route from Sheikh Zayed Road to Atlantis The Palm. The Smart Drive Dubai app can help you understand this better.

When transferring between the Metro, Tram and Bus, as said before, you won’t spend extra, but if you alight the metro to continue with the taxi, you’d be charged separately for your taxi ride. And the taxi charges are more expensive.

In transferring, you must get to the next means within 30 minutes of alighting the previous means. For example, after alighting from the Metro, you must board the Tram within 30 minutes. If not, your journey would be regarded as a new one and you’d have to pay another fare. To understand transferring better see this.

Below are routes of some Dubai’s transportation services to help you choose which mode of transport is best suited to you given your location. Remember, the taxi has its distinct fares.

  • The Dubai Metro has two routes, the red line and the green line. The red line spans Al Rashidiya along Sheikh Zayed Road for most of it’s length to UAE Exchange (Jebel Ali), while the Green line spans Etisalat through the densely populated areas of Deira and Bur Dubai to Dubai Creek.
  • The Dubai Tram loops around the Marina area and heads down to Al Sufouh.
  • The Dubai taxi runs all of Dubai and even beyond.
  • For the Dubai Bus’s route, please click here.

Summary of Getting to Atlantis The Palm by Dubai Metro

Note that the list below is only a skeleton of the article and is consequently lacking in vital details. For those details kindly read until the end.

  • Board the Metro headed to Damac Properties Metro Station.
  • Find your way to Dubai Marina Tram Station.
  • Board the Tram to Palm Jumeirah Tram Station all within 30 minutes.
  • Head to the the Gateway Monorail Station.
  • Board the monorail headed to Atlantis The Palm.

How Do I Reach The Altantis via The Dubai Metro

At this point, it is clear that the answer to this question is technically relative, depending fully on your location. What’s important now is how you can get to the Palm Jumeirah which hosts the Atlantis? Because, once you’re at the foot of the Palm, you can easily get to the Atlantis in about 15 minutes using the Dubai Monorail, spending AED 20 for a one-way trip or AED 30 for a round or a to-and-fro trip. The monorail is recommended for tourists especially because it gives you an appreciably better view (an aerial view) of the Island than the taxi. The monorail is elevated as against the taxi.

You could get to the Atlantis via the taxi also, although this would be at a higher rate.

How Do I Get to The Palm Jumeirah by The Metro?

Again, your location will determine the mode of transportation you’ll use to get to the Palm Jumeirah, but if you’re already on the Metro’s red line, travel in the Metro to Damac Properties Metro Station. Find your way to Dubai Marina Tram Station which is the closest Tram station to Damac Properties Metro Station. Board the Tram to Palm Jumeirah Tram Station. From there, head to the the Gateway Monorail Station through which you can get to the Atlantis. Getting to the Gateway Monorail Station from there by foot takes 5 – 10 minutes.

Please note. In case you’re in the Metro’s green line, take the Metro to the transfer station (Union or BurJuman station) closest to you and transfer to the red line. If you’re already in the Marina area or at Al Sufouh (the Dubai Tram’s route, simply put), there’d be no need for the Metro. Just take the Tram to the Palm Jumeirah Tram Station.

Conclusion

Answering the thematic question is entirely dependent on where you are in Dubai. In this way, I earnestly hope this article helps, as I’ve tried to provide a comprehensive answer. With the article, visiting the Atlantis by the Metro should cause no hassle. Stay guided.

How to visit the atlantis in dubai

Travel Blog

Commanding 44 hectares on the crescent of a palm-shaped island is a coral coloured 1,500-room hotel complete with a lagoon and ruins that replicate the lost city of Atlantis. Sounds like fantasy, doesn’t it? But the fact that this eye-popping hotel is in Dubai, where anything is possible, should explain a few things.

Like many of Dubai’s mega hotels, Atlantis, The Palm doesn’t fall short in spoiling its lucky guests with a dizzying blend of whimsy, grandeur and plenty of underwater themed fun. As much a theme park as it is a hotel, here are the most amazing things you can do there.

1. Shop Til You Drop

You really don’t need to leave the hotel for anything, not even do some credit card damage. From Australian Paspaley pearls to collectable artwork, most of your retail needs are neatly stored under the one roof. There’s even a gold ATM. No, not a gold-hued ATM, but an ATM that dispenses actual gold. Only in Dubai.

2. Sleep In A Signature Suite

Sure, you may think if you’ve seen one hotel room you’ve seen them all, but few compare to the glamorous spectacle of Atlantis’s four signature suites. If your bank balance stacks up to a certain Kardashian, check yourself in to one of the two underwater suites with views into Ambassador Lagoon and its 65,000 inhabitants.

Spread over three floors, the Poseidon and Neptune suites have more luxuries than one would ever need, including a private lift, circular spa bath illuminated by floor-to-ceiling lagoon views, 24-carat gold flecked soap and a 24/7 butler service which one guest made use of in requesting a sky-diving Santa Claus to deliver gifts. And it can be all yours for a cool $10,000-$15,000 per night.

3. Scuba Dine

Not only can you sleep like a celeb, you can eat like one too. Popular Japanese fine-dining chain, Nobu has a home at the hotel, along with 22 other top-notch venues. However, the most spectacular of all is the signature Ossiano restaurant, where an exquisitely crafted menu is paired with spectacular views into the Ambassadors Lagoon. For a fee, and with 24-hours notice, you can even have a skilled scuba diver deliver a message to your loved one.

See what it’s like spending a night at California’s kitschy Madonna Inn

4. Discover The Myth Of Atlantis

If you don’t have the luxury of living out your Atlantean fantasies in an underwater suite, you can discover the mysteries of this lost civilisation, plus learn all about the 65,000 lagoon inhabitants, at the Lost Chambers Aquarium. Explore the underwater world on your own or book in for a behind-the-scenes tour.

5. Swim With Sharks

Safaris aren’t just restricted to dry land. Instead of only viewing the sharks from behind the glass, why not don a specialised oxygen helmet and walk with them instead? There’s no need to muck around with complicated mouthpieces or oxygen tanks, the helmets allow participants (including kids aged eight years and over) the chance to walk-slash-swim among a menagerie of marine life.

6. Get Wet

Alongside a private beach and two swimming pools is Dubai’s most popular aquatic theme park, Aquaventure Waterpark. Expect fun for both the young and young at heart with everything from a lazy river and zip-line to a kids play area and towering waterslide that hurtles you right through the shark tank.

7. Zen Out

There may be something to keep you occupied throughout all hours of the day, but there’s nothing wrong with squeezing in a little down time. That’s where the kids club and ShuiQi Spa come in. The kids club is the ultimate haven for the little ones. There’s fun for all ages, including ‘Club Rush’ for teens and a summertime science camp for any budding Sheldon Coopers. And while the kids are away, you’ve scored yourself time to awaken your senses with a range of exquisite relaxation treatments from the capable hands at ShuiQi Spa. And Zen.

How to visit the atlantis in dubai

Ever since growing up watching the Mary-Kate and Ashley travel films, I have longed for the day I could stay at The Atlantis. Granted, the film was made at the first Atlantis (in the Bahamas), but nonetheless my check-in to The Atlantis Dubai felt long overdue.

On previous stopovers to Dubai I have gone out of my way to visit the Atlantis. My first time in Dubai I made a special trip over to experience the Aquaventure Waterpark (circa 2013) and just a couple of years ago in 2017 revisited the property with my little brother in tow to explore the Lost Chambers Aquarium. For certain this is an attraction in itself when visiting Dubai, but to stay at the Atlantis the Palm was an entirely different experience.

What is Included in your Stay

One of the biggest draw cards to staying at the Atlantis the Palm is the exclusivity offered to in-house guests. There are a number of areas at the Atlantis for in-house guests only, including the impressive lobby and private beach access. On top of this, every day we woke up at the Atlantis we would make our way around the hotel early before non-guests arrived and have the entire aquarium to ourselves, as well as empty beaches and pools to explore.

Guests are given unlimited access to Aquaventure Waterpark next door, as well as a visit to the Lost Chambers Aquarium. Breakfast is not included in the base price but with a breakfast buffet that is overflowing (with the likes of pancakes, waffles, banana bread, Sri Lankan curries and so much more), you’d be kidding yourself to say no!

Exploring the Atlantis

Exploring the hotel was one of our favourite parts of staying here. There is so much to discover that it almost feels endless, with every turn taking you on a different journey for the day.

Some of my favourite highlights of staying at the hotel were “The Wave”, a new eatery featuring ten pin bowling, live music and a wave pool (yup!) I also really enjoyed the fitness centre which had everything you could ever need and more to stay fit whilst on vacation. The club lounge was a great addition to our stay and became our favourite place to drink cocktails as the sun was setting.

Rooms at The Atlantis Dubai

I’m sure you’ve seen images of those gorgeous underwater rooms featuring an aquarium in the living room and yes – they exist at the Atlantis! There are only a few of them so they are difficult to book and much more expensive, so for the majority of the Atlantis rooms they are king size with two options: ocean facing or palm facing.

The rooms have everything you could need to enjoy your stay but to be honest, you won’t spend much time here with all the temptations of the resort. Be sure to indulge in the welcome chocolates (they were so memorable the deserved their own mention) and remember if you are palm facing – the higher the floor, the better the view!

Yoga at Atlantis the Palm

On our last morning waking up at the Atlantis, we booked the 9:00am underwater yoga class. The class takes place inside the hotel’s impressive aquarium outside of opening hours. To have this place almost entirely to yourself (our class had just six fellow yogis) is worth while in itself!

Is Atlantis the Palm Worth It?

When deciding whether the Atlantis the Palm Dubai is the right hotel for you, there are a few key considerations. This resort caters mostly to families, especially during UK and European school holidays. This means that you can expect an almost full resort over busy periods and with almost 1500 rooms, this can be quite chaotic!

That said, the Atlantis the Palm is incredibly fun and if you want endless options for activities, dining options and to “never leave the resort”, you’ve hit the jackpot. The Atlantis is not located near any of the major attractions in Dubai as much as it is an attraction itself. Located at the tip of the palm, you can expect to travel 20-30 minutes to anywhere nearby. This includes a 30 minute cab ride to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.

If you do book the Atlantis a great idea is to upgrade your room to include club access. This will allow you to enjoy daily afternoon tea (14:00-16:00) and cocktails + canapes from 17:00-19:00. Making use of the club facilities will allow you to cut costs by enjoying a hearty buffet breakfast followed by snacks during the day and just one paid meal in the evening.

Room rates start at $650 AUD for an ocean king room, per night. Breakfast is an additional $70 AUD per room, per night. Room rates include unlimited access to Aquaventure waterpark and the lost chambers aquarium.

Book your stay with The Atlantis.

One of the prominent parts of Jumeirah hotels and beaches is Atlantis the Palm. It is an underwater themed hotel that faces the sea in Dubai. The Atlantis palm island has so many things to offer such as Aquaventure, Dolphin Bay, etc. one of the famous attraction here is “the leap of faith” and also a glass tunnel surrounded by sharks. The dolphin bay provides you options to either swim or interact personally with dolphins.
