I have always enjoyed treating myself. Just last week I promised myself a fancy coffee with full-fat milk from The Mill at this fabulous studio called Salt in San Francisco if I worked out five days in a row. Although I was incredibly sore, I did it, and I thoroughly enjoyed the $4 cappuccino in a hip atmosphere afterward. While it’s great when friends, family members, and significant others treat you to something unexpected for a special occasion like your birthday, what about the other 364 days of the year? Life is too short to not treat yourself. After all, you work hard, so why not celebrate all the little, everyday accomplishments with a treat every now and then? Whether you’ve achieved a long-term goal that you have been working toward or simply had the most productive day ever and crossed off everything on your to-do list, you’re worth it and you deserve it. Here are 34 ideas for pampering yourself.

“While it’s great when friends, family members, and significant others treat you to something unexpected for a special occasion like your birthday, what about the other 364 days of the year?”

You don’t always need to go out to treat yourself. There are plenty of easy and inexpensive ways to pamper yourself at home and have a relaxing evening that makes you feel like you just went all out at the spa.

Read on for 14 things you can do at home to have some much-needed self-care time.

1. Take a hot bath

This one seems obvious, but it is completely necessary. Take your everyday bath up a notch by mixing in some epsom salt, chamomile tea (really!), bubble bath, or dissolving your favorite bath bomb. Finish setting the epic bath mood by lighting some candles, putting on some spa tunes, and dimming the lights. To really amp up the relaxation, invest in a bath pillow to fully recline in comfort, because once you go bath pillow you never go back.

2. Infuse some water

Staying properly hydrated is in itself a self-care activity, but to make hydration luxurious mix in some extras to infuse over the course of a few hours. Lemons, oranges, mint, and cucumbers are a great option for infusing – but don’t let us limit you, check out your fridge and get creative with your infusion concoctions.

3. Get your legs silky smooth

Nothing feels better than freshly shaved and exfoliated legs when you slip into bed, so pamper yourself with a few extra steps. Get out your exfoliating skin scrubs, or mix up your own using some sugar and oil, and really scrub down those legs. Then, while the scrub is still on, shave off all that hair and dead skin. Rinse off, dry with a towel, and then finish up with your silkiest body lotion to take your legs to epic heights of smoothness.

4. Face and hair mask up

These need to be on the list, and can easily be combined with a few other activities here to make your pampering night super-efficient. Fresh out of sheet masks and professional hair masks? No problem – google a few simple face and hair masks made out of common kitchen items to surprise yourself with your resourcefulness.

5. Treat yourself to a professional night cream

Bored of your go-to grocery store night cream? Treat yourself with an order of a pharmaceutical-grade brightening or anti-aging cream using prescription ingredients. Have a quick 10-15 minute consultation with doctors online at to see if these professional formulas are a good fit for your skin goals. If you are a good candidate for treatment, your leveled-up beauty cream can be shipped to your front door with free 2-day shipping.

6. Wear your plushest robe

Pamper yourself night is the time to set those sweats and tees aside and slip into something more luxe. Dig out your fluffiest robe and favorite pretty underthings to truly treat yourself.

7. Do your nails

Sprucing up your nails is one of the quickest ways to feel pampered. So, trim, file, and paint your nails a fun color to complete your treat yourself night.

8. Lay out some snacks

Treating yourself wouldn’t be complete without having tasty and healthy snacks laid out for casual munching.

Slice up some fruit & veg and set out some hummus, crackers, guac, salsa, and nuts for guilt-free nourishing snacking.

9. Make or order in your favorite dinner

Treat yourself to your favorite meal, whether you tend to go for take-out lo mein, or you like getting into the kitchen a whipping up a zesty pesto pasta. Sink into your favorite spot on the couch with your favorite dinner and turn on a guilty pleasure reality T.V. show for some top-notch you time.

10. Digital detox for the night

Being available all of the time can be draining, so schedule out an evening where you can turn off your phone, shut down your laptop, and have a full-on no-electronics night.

11. Read a book or browse a magazine

Reading can work wonders to get out of your own head and escape into another reality for a while. Pick out a new fantasy read you have been eyeing, or grab a few frivolous magazines to page through while sipping your favorite beverage to have some pampering reading time.

12. Put on some relaxing music

Choosing some relaxing tunes is a must for a well-constructed pampering night. People tend to have different preferences for what is relaxing so you do you here. Go for a spa songs playlist, ambient music, jazz, or chill pop music to set the tone for your evening.

13. Use candles or a diffuser

Don’t forget to make sure that your home smells great for your pampering night. Light a few scented candles or whip out your diffuser with your favorite essential oils to make your home smell like a fancy spa.

How to pamper yourself at home

Every woman needs to have a good pamper day routine.

What exactly does it mean to pamper yourself?

Pampering is self-care turned up a few notches. On a pamper day, you will go above and beyond to take care of yourself, and treat yourself with kindness and love.

This means doing all of the things that will help you look and feel your best.

A pamper day is a day you will spoil yourself with care and pay extra attention to your needs.

In this post, you will learn all about how to pamper yourself as a woman.

I will give you a full day of ideas to pamper yourself from morning until night. You can pick and choose which pampering ideas work for you, and choose which ideas you want to add to your pamper routine checklist.

How to pamper yourself at home

Sleep in

Pampering yourself starts the night before, so aim to get at least 8 hours of sleep (or more) to recharge your mind and body.

Start your morning slow

Don’t rush to get out of bed on a pamper day, instead wake up slowly.

I like to journal in the morning, and I love this gratitude journal (click to view on Amazon) it helps me start my day with good thoughts.

Don’t check your phone

Put your phone on silent, and enjoy a slow and mindful morning without outside distractions.

Tip: Avoid checking social media first thing in the morning as it can trigger undesired emotions.

Eat a nutritious and satisfying breakfast

Eat a healthy breakfast that will fuel your body for the day.

Extra tip for your pamper day routine: Listen to an inspiring podcast, book, or video while eating breakfast instead of scrolling social media or watching the news. This will help you start your day with good energy.

Make or order your favorite coffee/tea

Remember today is all about doing kind things for yourself, so treat yourself by making your favorite morning drink or picking it up from your favorite coffee shop.

How to pamper yourself at home

Wear your favorite outfit

Put on an outfit that you feel comfortable and beautiful in (even if you’re staying in).

Wearing an outfit that you feel good in can boost your confidence and self-esteem.

Do a stress-relieving activity

Think about doing an activity that makes you feel happy and relaxed.

Some stress-relieving activity ideas are yoga, deep breathing, meditation, or going for a walk.

Try a couple of these stress-relieving activities to find which one works best for you.

Buy yourself something

One of my personal favorite ways to pamper yourself at home is to do some online shopping. Remember today you are treating yourself, so buy something nice for yourself (within your budget).

How to pamper yourself at home

Order take-out for dinner

There will be no doing dishes tonight! Order from your favorite restaurant for dinner.

Extra tip for your pamper day at home: set the table and light candles for an extra cozy dinner.

Take a warm bath or shower

Take your bath/shower routine to the next level on your pamper night by putting on music and lighting some candles.

These are my favorite LED candles (click to view on Amazon) to set a cozy vibe.

Extra Tip: Pour your favorite drink, and add a bath bomb to your water for an extra relaxing evening.

Exfoliate and moisturize your body

Really take the time to exfoliate your body with your favorite body scrub and shave (if you prefer). When you are done exfoliating, use a thick moisturizing lotion to replenish your skin.

Put on a face mask

Show your skin extra love, and put on a face mask that is good for your skin type.

Trim and paint your nails

Give yourself a manicure and pedicure while watching your favorite movie or show.

Wear cozy pajamas

Put on your comfiest pair of pajamas to end your pamper day.

I used to have a salon/spa membership and got my nails done once a month. Regularly having a spa experience helped relieve stress and anxiety, and I felt like I deserved it. Now that I’m saving my money though, I find just as much joy pampering myself at home. Learn how to pamper yourself at home on the cheap.

How to pamper yourself at home

Make a DIY Hair Mask

Try making a DIY hair mask using ingredients you already have at home:

  • Olive oil and honey
  • Olive oil and avocado
  • Milk and honey
  • Coconut oil

My hair is something I think way too much about, so I’m a regular hair mask user. But, if you hair is more of an afterthought, you may find a hair mask to be even more luxurious.

I usually apply a mask to dry hair, but if you need a little more slip, apply to damp hair. After about 15 minutes, rinse it out and wash your hair like normal. If you have trouble getting the oil out, just shampoo twice.

Trim Your Nails

Whether you give yourself a full-on mani-pedi or you just do a little nail trimming, I find keeping my nails tidy makes me feel good. When my nails are out of whack, I feel out of whack. My nails grow in a little wobbly, so if they get long without a gel manicure keeping them well-shaped, they start to look and feel a little crazy.

If you’re going for an at-home manicure, go all-out with a nice nail soak (warm, soapy water will do the trick). If you’re doing the basics, trim and file your nails and either push back or trim your cuticles. Don’t forget to finish it off with a little nail oil (olive oil works great!) to truly pamper yourself.

Exfoliate Your Body

When is the last time you exfoliated your arms and legs? I have keratosis pilaris on my arms, so I regularly keep things smooth with DERMAdoctor KP Duty Body Scrub . For my legs though, I use Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub which is only $6! I bought it when I started epilating. You can even make a DIY body scrub using ingredients you already have around the house:

  • Coffee grounds and coconut oil
  • Brown sugar and olive oil
  • Sea salt and olive oil

You can exfoliate dry or damp skin. Afterward, rinse off, pat your skin dry, and don’t forget to apply lotion or body butter.

Apply a Face Mask

I would bet most women have a face mask already hiding in their bathroom cabinet. You know, that face mask you bought and used once. If not, single-use sheet masks at Target are about $1-4. Or, you can create a DIY face mask at home.

  • Avocado, yogurt, and honey
  • Raw egg, pumpkin puree, honey

After masking, be sure to moisturize. I like to finish a facial with a little oil such as the Honest Beauty Facial Oil , too. If you don’t own a face oil, try some coconut oil .

Take Care of Your Feet

I’m pretty good at taking care of myself, but my feet are something I often neglect. Pedicure or no pedicure, you should exfoliate and moisturize your feet. If you have a buffing block, give them a good scrub down, focusing on rough spots. If not, try one of the at-home body scrub recipes above. Then, apply a generous amount of lotion, and stick your feet in a pair of comfy socks to allow your skin to absorb the moisture.

Calm Your Mind

You’ve pampered yourself, but don’t forget to pamper your mind. Try a few of these ideas, or leave your ideas in the comments:

  • Read in bed with the lights off except for your bedside lamp.
  • Meditate.
  • Take a bath by candlelight.
  • Write a letter.

Bonus Tip: Pamper Yourself in the In-Between Moments

If you’re waiting for the perfect night alone or after the kids go to sleep, you may never find the right time to pamper yourself. The ingredients for these body scrubs, face masks, and hair masks are all very conveniently found in your own kitchen, so why not pamper yourself in the kitchen? Whip up your face mask and mask while cooking dinner or cleaning the kitchen. Find time to pamper yourself in the in-between moments.

How to pamper yourself at home

Just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean that you can’t pamper yourself. In fact, I’d argue that self-care is one line item that should remain in your budget as you work to improve your finances. The importance of self-care—taking care of your physical and mental health—can’t be underestimated.

The truth is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to give yourself a little TLC. There are some frugal tips that you can leverage to pamper yourself on a budget. So, although frequent trips to the nail salon may not fall into your financial plan, having manicured nails isn’t quite a thing of the past. You don’t have to ditch pampering yourself when you learn how to do it on a budget.

Why it’s important to pamper yourself as you improve your finances

Pampering is usually just thought of as something that’s reserved for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, or Mother’s Day. This shouldn’t be the case and, more importantly, it doesn’t have to be. Pampering yourself is a form of self-care that is necessary for mental and physical health. One of the greatest benefits of self-care is that it reduces stress.

Because money can be stressful, having a way to relieve those emotions while you work on your financial goals is incredibly important. If you deprive yourself of opportunities to indulge in pampering, you may grow resentful of your financial journey. You should still enjoy life, even if it’s on a budget.

How not to feel guilty when you pamper yourself

Not every dollar that you earn has to go toward a savings or debt payoff goal. Leave room in your budget for an occasional massage or some other small treat. When you put self-care and pampering into your budget, you won’t feel guilty about it. The money will already be set aside for whatever you choose to do. So, if you do want to take a trip to the nail salon, simply add it as a line item in your budget to pay for it. Remember that self-care is necessary, so don’t feel bad about it once you’ve planned and budgeted for it.

10 Ways to pamper yourself

Now that you understand the importance of pampering yourself, let’s talk about ways that you can do it on a budget. Here are 10 ways to pamper yourself without spending a whole lot of money.

1. Give yourself a massage

Give your muscles some attention with a hand massager or on your own. Small things like giving yourself a hand and foot massages can go a long way in helping you relax. You can also find handheld body massagers for as low as $20. The great thing about this purchase is that it can be used over and over again for future pamper sessions.

2. Take a bubble bath

We live in such a fast-paced society that taking time out for a long, relaxing bath can be difficult. Make the time to soak for a while. Bubble baths are an inexpensive way to give yourself some quality time and care. Bath bombs and oils are also great, natural options to help you relax.

3. Give yourself a manicure and pedicure

Save a few dollars by giving yourself a manicure and pedicure. You only need a few tools to get the job done. So grab your nail clippers, a nail file, and polish and have yourself a paint party! You can even find an at-home foot spa for as little as $20 to really get the nail salon feel. Press on nails are also an option if you want more of a professional look.

4. Buy yourself flowers

You don’t have to wait for someone else to buy you flowers. Buying fresh flowers is one of my favorite forms of pampering. A $20 bouquet of roses will not only lift your spirits, but it’ll give your space a chic vibe. So the next time you go to the grocery store, pick up a bouquet for yourself. Don’t forget to budget for it ahead of time.

5. Give yourself a facial

Facials can be expensive, so doing it yourself can make them budget-friendly. You can create your own DIY facial scrub with a few items in your kitchen. You’d be surprised by which food items make for a great exfoliant.

6. Cozy up to a book and tea

Reading a great book is always relaxing. Couple that with some nice, warm tea and you’ll be in for a calming night. You can grab a book on Kindle or for free from your local library. Sites like Hoopla offer free digital books and audiobooks with your local library account.

7. Sleep in

Sleeping in may not seem like a form of pampering, but it is. It is just as much a form of self-care and pampering as a massage. The great thing is that it’s completely free. Giving your body time to reset and recover will leave you feeling refreshed and pampered. Simply pick a day to clear out your schedule and get some rest. Make sure you’re wearing some comfortable pajamas and your favorite eye mask!

8. Light some candles

Fragrances have the ability to completely change our mood. Lighting a scented candle can create an environment that’s conducive to relaxation. If you’re not into candles, consider diffusing essential oils. This healthier alternative provides the same results. Not only will you feel relaxed, but your home will smell great too.

9. Have a picnic

Picnics are always a fun, inexpensive way to pamper yourself. It allows you to get some much needed Vitamin D and fresh air. Make yourself a sandwich and pack a blanket, some snacks and drinks, and head to your local park. You can soak under the sun with a good book or some music.

10. Have a candlelight dinner

Nothing says pampered more than good food. Have a fun night cooking your favorite recipe and enjoying it by candlelight. If you’re not much of a cook, you can add takeout to your meal plan for the week and order in. Make it fancy by serving it on your best china and pulling out your dark table cloth.

Pampering yourself: Final thoughts

Being on a budget doesn’t mean that you should neglect pampering yourself. It’s ok to set money aside for self-care and enjoying life. And, as you can see, it doesn’t have to be expensive. Make pampering yourself a part of your budget. You’ll find that it’ll help you stay motivated on your financial journey.

Who doesn’t like being pampered? And when the person who loves you the most is YOU, why should you wait for others to pamper you? Working, house care, cooking, travelling and everything in between can take a toll on you and a little “me time” goes a long way in rejuvenating you after a long tiring week. Friday nights work the best for this!
Here are the things that are involved in my pamper night routine.

Sometimes life gets so busy that it’s hard to find time to relax. While it may be easier said than done, it’s important that you find go-to ways to unwind and carve out time for them. Whether that’s taking a luxurious bath, finding time to treat yourself to a DIY spa day, or a girls’ night in, we all need our time to refresh and recharge. So, this week, we’re focused on helping you learn how to pamper yourself. Make it a point to treat your mind, body, and skin to a little TLC with one or more of these pampering skin care tips.

You may not have the time to go to a spa, but you don’t have to—you can follow this easy step-by-step guide for an at-home facial that can help encourage beautiful skin and, hopefully, a more relaxed state of mind, too.

It’s a must to start things off with a clean canvas, so go ahead and get completely clean using the L’Oréal Paris Micellar Cleansing Water Complete Waterproof Cleanser – All Skin Types. Just saturate a cotton pad with the micellar water and wipe the pad across your face.

Get an extra boost of hydration by spritzing on a facial mist or essence with an invigorating scent to help perk up your senses. We love the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Shake & Glow Dew Mist, which is infused with coconut water and provides skin with a boost of healthy hydration.

Revive your skin with circulating movements for 10 minutes, gently working your fingers across your skin, avoiding dragging the skin downwards. Incorporate a facial oil into your massage to benefit your skin even further.

You can also elevate a face massage by bringing a skin care tool, like a jade roller or gua sha stone, into the mix. Use the tool to massage your skin and spread the oil over your face.

Editor’s note: If you don’t know the first thing about How to Give Yourself a Facial Massage, read our article on the topic.

Now is not the time for a bare-bones skin care routine, so go ahead and layer a serum onto your skin next. Try the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Triple Power™ Concentrated Serum, which is formulated with hyaluronic acid.

Just like at the end of any skin care routine, you should hydrate your skin after your facial. If you’re going to bed, consider applying an overnight face mask, like the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Triple Power™ Intensive Overnight Face Mask.

Pamper yourself and address your skin care concerns at the same time by applying a face mask. There are many formulas available, so find one that best suits your needs, whether you want to mattify shine, brighten a dull complexion, or refine your skin’s rough texture.

Try the L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Exfoliate & Refining Face Mask, L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Detox & Brighten Face Mask, L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Clear & Comfort Face Mask, or L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Clarify & Smooth Face Mask. Each of these clay face masks treats your specific skin care concerns without drying the skin. Apply an even layer to clean, dry skin, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your face dry.

Editor’s tip: You can also try multi-masking—a.k.a. using multiple face masks at the same time—to address more than one skin concern.

Don’t forget to pamper your lips, too. Use a gentle sugar scrub to exfoliate before applying a hydrating lip conditioner. The L’Oréal Paris Pure-Sugar scrubs we discussed earlier can actually double as lip scrubs, so you don’t need to pick up an additional product.

For instant revitalizing, apply a cold eye compress (even cucumber slices will do the trick) to your eyelids after cleansing your skin. The cool compress will feel amazing on your tired skin, so just lay back and listen to music or meditate while the compress rests on your eyes. Then, once the compress is removed, apply a few dabs of a nourishing eye cream.

#3 Moisturizing Your Skin Matters

We all know that moisturizing your skin is important, but do you really know why? Moisturizing locks in water to protect the outermost layer of your skin by creating a barrier to prevent dryness, skin protection, and improve appearance. RevitaLift® Bright Reveal Brightening Day Moisturizer is a favorite because it contains a broad spectrum SPF 30 with a combination of Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C, and Pro-Retinol to reveal brighter skin, help correct uneven skin tone, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles in just 1 week. My skin is visibly brighter! It also looks better hydrated and feels softer and smoother!

Extra Extra: This hydrating SPF moisturizer is clinically tested to reveal more radiant skin. Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen helps protect against the sun’s aging UVA/UVB rays sensitivity that can come from using a product with Glycolic Acid. This is very important, take note!

We’ve all been there. You’ve had a hard, busy week and you need some pampering and ‘me’ time. But the thing is, you can’t afford to go to a spa or have the services performed by a professional. As much as I wish I could afford my own private masseuse or nail technician, I’ve had to learn how to pamper myself at home. Today, I thought I’d share 5 ways to pamper yourself at home.

5 Ways to Pamper Yourself at Home

Soak Your Feet

I have a small bin that I use just for my feet. I fill it with warm water, a little lavender and sit until the water gets cold. Then, I scrub off the dead skin and paint my toes. Another trick is to find a tennis ball, put it on the floor and move your foot around on it. It’s like a little foot rub!

Take a Bath

Light some candles, throw in a bath bomb, pour a glass of wine, put on some music, and soak in the tub. Put your phone as far away as possible and focus on relaxing.

Turn Off the Alarm Clock

For me, I feel pampered when I allow myself to sleep in. My favorite Friday nights are when I change my sheets, crawl into bed and sleep 8+ hours.

Put on a Face Mask

You can get a face mask from anywhere or make one at home with nature-inspired ingredients. Leave on for 15 minutes, close your eyes and give your skin a break.

Wash Your Hair

This may sound odd, but pamper your hair with some nature-inspired, environmentally friendly products. My go-to? Nature Box™ from Rite Aid. Their shampoo and conditioners come in Coconut, Avocado, and Apricot and they all smell absolutely amazing.

How to pamper yourself at home

One of my favorite pampering products

Nature Box has five product lines that feature oils extracted from the heart of fruits and nuts by a process called cold pressing. Cold pressing oils involve exerting pressure, without using excessive heat, so that the natural oils are released from the ingredients. Cold pressing involves no chemicals and no hot processes.

How to pamper yourself at home

The cold pressed oils in Nature Box products are neither refined nor processed. Nature Box products are made with 100% cold pressed oil from coconuts, avocados, apricots, almonds, and macadamia nuts, and each line is made for specific reasons.

How to pamper yourself at home

Don’t the ingredients all sound so fresh and luxurious?!

Another thing I like about Nature Box products is that hair products are vegan. The products are also without sulfates, silicones, parabens, and artificial colorants. In addition, Nature Box ingredients are also packaged and labeled to encourage consumer recycling. How amazing is that?

How to pamper yourself at home

I picked up my Nature Box products at my local Rite Aid. The coconut is my favorite! It’s made for hair hydration and after using it, you feel immediate hydration and moisture. It leaves your hair feeling fresh, saturated, and healthy-looking.

Luckily, there are other ways to indulge in some me time with a spa treatment without leaving the comfort of your home! What Products Do You Need for a Home Spa?

Creating the perfect spa day at home starts with gathering all the different products you need in order to treat yourself like the royalty you are. To help you get started, we compiled a list of items that are essential for your at-home spa treatments and relaxation time. Don’t worry if you find that you don’t have everything listed here; your spa day can be simple and still give you the tranquility you need!

  • Candles: There’s nothing more calming than dimming the lights and lighting a fresh scented candle. Just like any spa you step foot into, the scent of lavender, chamomile, citrus, jasmine, or woody musk is enough to make you feel relaxed.
  • Essential Oil Diffuser: Scents affect our mood. But if you’re trying to get a calming scent while avoiding the fire hazard that candles impose, add an essential oil diffuser to your home spa that doubles as interior decor.
  • Bath Robe: Throw on a comfy robe since you don’t need to dress to impress for your spa day at home !
  • Bath Pillow: If you’re going to self-indulge in the bathtub for a while, then having a spa bath pillow is a must for maximum comfort. The Quilted Air Luxury Escape Bath Pillow from Bath Haven is the perfect bathtub accessory for supporting your head, neck, and shoulders and providing a blissful bath-time experience.
  • Face Masks: Face masks are essential for any skincare routine. Not only do they hydrate and moisturize your skin, but they can also clear breakouts. If you have sensitive skin, it’s a good idea to check the product labels first.
  • Eye Masks: We’re all familiar with puffy eyes and dark circles due to lack of sleep. However, eye masks are great for making your skin feel refreshed and less puffy since they usually contain hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and cucumber.
  • Hair Masks: Using hair masks can be time consuming since they take a little while to sink in and do their magic, but the end results are always worth it. This kind of deep conditioning treatment leaves your hair rejuvenated and gives it some extra nourishment. As a bonus, you can give yourself a head massage while applying your hair mask!
  • Body Scrubs: Body scrubs are great for exfoliating your skin and getting rid of dead skin flakes. Most products are made with natural scrub particles such as sea salt and sugar. Oils are also often added in to help hydrate your skin.
  • Moisturizers: The foundation of any skincare routine is moisturizing. A good spa treatment includes the use of moisturizers on your body to prevent dry skin and soothe conditions like eczema.

How to Create a Spa at Home

Although you have all the necessary products for your DIY spa day at home , you’re not quite ready for a full session of relaxation yet; this is because the ideal home spa also calls for a calming environment and atmosphere! To help you further prepare for your self-indulgence time, here are some additional ideas on how to create the perfect spa setting.

1. Tidy Your Home Spa

No spa space should ever be messy or cluttered. As we mentioned earlier, the perfect home spa should prioritize a clean environment in order to produce a calming atmosphere. How will you ever be able to relax if there are piles of clutter and work items sprawled across your room?

So before you start your at-home spa treatments , declutter your spa space in a true Marie Kondo fashion!

2. Improve Your Bath Standards

Did you know that baths are proven to lower stress hormones and blood pressure? When it comes to relieving tension and pampering yourself with a warm or hot bath, you shouldn’t settle for plain water. Instead, maximize your bath-time soak session by adding in a bubble bath mix or bath salts for a calming fragrance. Some naturally soothing scents to try are chamomile, sandalwood, lavender, and jasmine.

If you don’t have a bathtub, you can apply a scented body oil and create your own home sauna with a simple hot shower. The steam will add a relaxing effect along with the fragrances of your choice to help ease your worries away.

3. Clear Any Distractions

We all love technology — sometimes a little too much. When you’re trying to clear your mind and relax, having the TV on in the background or looking at your bright phone does the exact opposite. To help ease any stressful thoughts you may have, it’s best to keep your mind in the present and live in the moment. That’s why it’s better to ditch the technology for your spa day at home and just meditate or do some breathing exercises. If you want to add to the peaceful atmosphere, you can also put on some calming music.

4. Create a Plant Sanctuary in Your Home Spa

Add a bit of life to your home spa with some plants! Not only do plants serve as nice decor, but they also filter out air pollutants which can help if you have any respiratory ailments like asthma.

Here’s a list of some of the best kinds of plants for cleaning indoor air:

  • Aloe Vera
  • English Ivy
  • Bamboo Palm
  • Peace Lily
  • Spider Plant
  • Rubber Tree
  • Pothos

Final Thoughts

Sometimes we get caught up with work in our busy lives, but it’s important to remember to set aside some time for yourself every so often. Make sure to treat yourself with a well-deserved pamper session whenever you can, as these self-indulgence days don’t always come around. When you do have the opportunity to kick back and relax, you can use these 13 spa-day-at-home ideas to destress and ease your worries!

How to pamper yourself at home

I talk a lot about the importance of self-care here, and I would be lying if I said I was succeeding in prioritizing it right now amongst all the craziness. This time has been fraught with so much uncertainty and worry, so I put almost all self-care on the back burner while I tried to get my family adjusted to this new normal of self-distancing, homeschooling, their new brother, and not having their dad living in the same house as us.

Last night after I put the big kids to bed and before Mateo was due for a feed, I started thinking about what types of self-care I could do for myself at-home during my fabulous but infrequent periods of spare-time. Since I’m positive I’m not the only exhausted human out there who could use a spa day, I’m sharing my list of at-home spa treatments, along with step-by-step instructions, and supplies below! I hope you’ll join me in trying to re-prioritize your mental and physical health — even if it’s just doing your nails! Let me know how you fare in the comments below!

Set The Mood…

How to pamper yourself at home

Before we get into our at-home spa day, we have to set the mood.

The fastest way to be transported out of your house and into a spa is through scent. I am a huge candle lover. I even bring them with me when I travel because I feel like it makes foreign spaces so much homier.

So the first step to your spa experience is going to be to light up your favorite candle!

Purple Petals

I recently came across this candle company from Brooklyn, and I’m obsessed. Their fragrances are so yummy, and they are currently offering 10% off all purchases AND donating 10% of all proceeds to the Food Bank of New York City. Use promo code SUNSHINE at checkout!

At Pamper. My, we’re all about discovering ways we can treat ourselves to a bit of self-indulgence. Whether it’s in the food we eat, the healthy lifestyle choices we make, the make-up and fashion we wear, and even down to the places we travel.

How about treating yourself to a hair spa right in the comfort of your own home? It’s a fraction of the cost and you get to chill out and watch a movie while you’re waiting for the hair mask to do its thing. In fact, there are plenty of DIY ways to do this and we’re here to share a few with you.

Make your own DIY Hair Spa Mask

1. Olive Oil + Steam Towel

This is as simple as it gets. Work olive oil into the strands of your hair, you can choose to focus on your ends or work it into your scalp as well. Leave it on for about 15 minutes.

How to pamper yourself at home Image:

Get a towel that was soaked in warm water, wring it of all the excess water, and wrap your hair in the towel. The warmth from the towel acts as a steamer. Leave it on for another 10 minutes or so and then wash with a mild shampoo.

2. Avocado Honey Conditioning Mask

We love this one! It leaves your hair with an added boost of shine and it just feels so nourished.

How to pamper yourself at home Image:

Combine two avocados with a big tablespoon of honey. Based on the size of your avocado (because we know that fluctuates), you’ll need to estimate the amount of honey to put in. You want to create a paste-like consistency, so it needs to be thick.

Apply the paste from your hair scalp to your ends and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo and enjoy!

3. Egg Wash Your Hair

Eggs are a great source of protein and our hair strands are made from keratin protein. That’s what gives it strength.

How to pamper yourself at home Image:

For this little egg wash, mix in one egg with coconut oil. I usually put in a bit more coconut oil because I prefer the consistency that way.

Apply the mask to your hair, wrap it in a warm towel and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo.

Rule of thumb: to get that egg smell out of your hair, wash with cold water.

4. Bananas For Healthy Hair

Notice how our DIY masks use only natural products? Amazing right!

How to pamper yourself at home Image:

Here’s another one. Take a ripe banana, chop it up and add a small bowl of olive oil and one egg white. Put it in a blender.

Apply the mask onto your hair for 20 minutes and wash. Bananas are a great source of potassium which helps to soften your hair and prevents split ends by protecting the hair’s elasticity.

5. Milk and Honey Good Enough to Eat

You may have heard of this one – tried and test through the years. Add a tablespoon of honey into a glass of raw milk and apply this all over your hair, from roots to ends.

How to pamper yourself at home Image:

Leave it on for 20 minutes and wash. You’ll notice your hair feeling a lot softer and shinier!

How to pamper yourself at home

If there is something we have learnt in the past two years is the fact that you can pamper yourself at home. These days, you no longer have to go somewhere to get yourself pampered. Everything can be done at the comfort of your own home. Not only will you save some money in the long term, you will also gain a new pampering skill which is extremely useful. These tips are also great if you want to find more ways to romanticize your life. Now, here are 12 ways to pamper yourself at home;

1. Invest in Quality Bath Products

You may not notice it but the bath products you are using can really make or break your experience. You need quality products that will cater to your need.

We suggest you pay close attention to the shampoo, conditioner and soap / body wash you are using. Avoid mainstream drugstore products as they are often filled with harsh chemicals that are bad for your hair and skin (and they often contain high concentration of cheap smelling fragrance which is a huge turn off).

Instead, opt for a more natural or higher end options with milder scents and better ingredients.

2. Enhance Your Skincare Routine

You don’t need to do ten steps skincare routine. Cleansing, toning, serum, moisturizer and sunscreen (plus eye cream) is really all you need. The key is to pay attention to the quality of the skincare you are using.

Look for skincare with active ingredients catered to your skin needs and condition. Take at least fifteen minutes in the morning and evening to do your skincare and before you realize it, you are already pampering yourself.

3. Do Your Hair

We know by now you understand the importance of investing in good haircare products. Now, the next step is to do your hair daily. We recommend you to avoid using too much heat as they may damage your hair but there are a lot of heat free hairstyle you can try and will make you look absolutely gorgeous.

4. Take A Bubble Bath

If you are lucky enough to have a bath. Make the most out of it. Take a bubble bath at least once a week. Add some bath salts or bomb inside and use this time to relax and unwind. You can also get a bath tray and read a book or drink wine while taking your bath for the ultimate spa experience.

5. Dry Brushing

This practice is really affordable and can do wonder for your skin and health. Dry brushing is an art of physical exfoliation to get rid of dead skin cells on your skin. Always brush gently toward your heart and you will feel so much better afterward.

6. Get A Facial Steamer

If you like to take your skincare game to the next level, get yourself a facial steamer. It’s a wonderful way to prepare your skin and gently open up the pores. Facial steaming allows the products you are using absorb better to the skin, leaving you feeling rejuvenated afterward.

7. Facial Roller & Gua Sha

These days, facial rollers and gua sha are becoming more popular and it’s for a good reason. There are plenty of beauty benefits of facial roller and gua sha. Just put it in the fridge to cool it before usage in the morning and evening. It’s great to de-puff the skin and help your skincare to absorb better.

8. Read a Book and Drink Tea

One of the ways to pamper yourself at home is simply by reading a book accompanied by a cup of tea. This one is a classic and it’s for a good reason. Reading a book enrich your mind and help you to relax. When paired with your favorite tea, it feels like heaven on earth. If you can, get a pretty tea set as well to accompany your little tea time and make the most out of this experience.

9. Light Up Scented Candles

Next, you want to light up some scented candles in the room. Depending on the scent you choose, it can also improve your mood and elevate your space.

Our personal recommendation for your home are woody and floral scents. They give off a more luxurious vibe compared to mainstream citrus scents and add some depth into your home. Look for scents with sandalwood, oud, rose or white florals in them for that niche home experience.

10. Put on Calming / Spa Music

Of course, we need to pamper all of our senses. Music is an amazing way to boost our mood and put us in a relaxed mood. There are plenty of playlist available on the internet you can choose.

11. Get A Massage Device

Don’t have anyone to give you a massage? Just invest in a quality massage device. If you want to really make the splurge you can get a massage chair. However, if you don’t want to, there are plenty of mini massage devices you can try on and play with.

12. Manicure and Padicure

Last but not least, give yourself a nice manicure and pedicure. Learn how to do your own nails at home and get a manicure set and a few nail polish options. Once you learn how to do your own nails, you will be able to save so much money on it which is always a bonus.

Those were some great ways to pamper yourself at home. Now, treat yourself to these routine because you deserve it.

Okay, so I’m thrilled to announce that my sister has written another amazing guest post for A Woman’s Confidence and this post is particularly relevant in the current COVID-19 climate.

As the UK is in lockdown, we’re all spending a lot more time at home and our face-to-face social interactions have decreased drastically. A lot of people are finding this challenging and some people can feel overwhelmed with the sudden amount of free time they have on their hands now.

However, adjusting to these new circumstances doesn’t have to be horrible and you can use the extra time to take care of yourself and look and feel amazing. Here, my sister shares 5 really simple but effective at-home pamper ideas for some well-deserved ‘me-time’.

Anyone can do these ideas so set some time aside tonight to pamper and feel great.

Obviously, with the current coronavirus situation, we are all trying to stay at home as much as possible. Although this is what needs to be done, we shouldn’t neglect our own mental health and well-being, which often take a hit when we feel a bit cooped up.

That’s why now, arguably more than ever, is the perfect time to take time out of every day to do things that not only feel good but are also productive in some way too.

1. Hair masks

I absolutely love it when I have time to do a full hair mask. Hair masks come in many varieties, but the goal is to nourish your hair and make it super healthy.

I personally love the Garnier 3-in-1 Hair Mask as it’s really hydrating, adds volume and just smells amazing. I put the mask on the ends of my hair and gently pull it through the hair. Then, I put it up in a towel to keep the heat in, leave it for 40 minutes and then wash. During the 40 minutes, I’ll do something else relaxing and pampering, like drinking a herbal tea while watching Netflix.

2. Experimenting with your nails

With extra time at home, it’s the perfect time to take those extra few minutes doing something special for yourself. Whether you do gel nails or use regular polish, try to find some inspiration to do a unique manicure. I love searching through Pinterest for some really cute and simple styles to try at home. Try searching for ‘marble nail effect’ and give it a try!

3. An at-home facial

If you’re missing being able to go out for a pamper, you can do your best to recreate it at home, either alone or whoever is at home with you.

My favourite part of a facial is the hot towel treatment, where a warm towel is placed over your face helping to open pores and moisturise. These can be easily replicated at home.

The best way to achieve it is to run a towel under water, place it in a microwavable dish and heat for 30 seconds. You can also add a few drops of essential oils to really make the most of it, like lavender oil for calming the skin.

4. Homemade face masks

Again, as you might be trying to avoid going out, trying a homemade face mask might be the perfect solution if you have ran out of your usual favourite. The great thing with these is that you can add a lot of what is already laying around in your cupboards.

You can find some recipes here or can find many online if you just search what results you want, for example ‘homemade exfoliating face mask’.

Tip: Honey is a great ingredient to add as it is naturally antibacterial which helps fight acne and it is also packed with antioxidants to help slow down signs of ageing.

5. Scrub treatments

Much like with the point above, lip and body scrubs can easily be made at home and give you that spa feel. I like to use brown sugar for my lip scrubs as it is a great exfoliator and it is also delicious! After using a scrub, I’d definitely recommend adding lip balm and a heavy body moisturiser so that you lock in hydration to the fresh skin: making it glow as well as nourishing it.

Make sure to look after yourself and those around you, both physically and mentally, and make the most of the time at home while you have it. You could even have a read through some of my sister’s other blog posts for example…

What does pampering mean to you? Rewarding yourself? Encouraging yourself? Deborah Day believes that “Nourishing yourself in a way that helps you blossom is attainable, and you are worth the effort.” Even when so many things in life feel out of control, don’t forget that you are in control of your own self-care.

Self-care has become an essential priority for individuals around the globe. Listening to your body and treating yourself with extra care and kindness helps your mind, body, and soul stay healthy. Let’s take a closer look at a few simple ways to pamper yourself at home this season. You deserve a bit of TLC every now and again.

Set a Mindful Mood

Self-care is about more than mere mindset—true relaxation and rejuvenation need the ideal environment. Pampering sessions are best when you set the scene with a peaceful ambiance that awakens the senses. What environmental properties are most soothing or healing to you? Set the right mood by lighting some blissful candles, dimming the lights, and putting on an oil diffuser. Play a soft music playlist, cozy up in blankets and loungewear, and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

Give Yourself a Spa Treatment

A spa treatment is another simple way to pamper yourself at home this season. If you’ve had a long day—or week, or month—basic treatments can nourish and relax your skin, hair, and body. Draw yourself a comforting warm bath or take a steamy shower to wash the stress away. If you’re focused on skincare, try out a foot scrub or face mask. Give yourself a makeshift manicure or pedicure. Don’t forget about releasing tension with effective self-massage tools—they’re perfect after intense workouts or countless hours of sedentary work at your desk.

Cook or Bake Your Favorite Foods

Nourishing your body is self-care 101. Eating good food ensures you remain properly energized and contently happy and healthy. You can steer toward the nutritious route or pick a seasonal dish or indulgent treat that you don’t regularly make throughout the year. To pamper yourself fully, choose a favorite recipe and enjoy the simple art of cooking or baking. Not only can you look forward to the delectable final product, but the creative process is innately rewarding.

When all is said and done, life is undoubtedly too short. Make it sweeter by treating yourself and practicing at-home self-care. Take the time to check in, note how you feel, and prioritize your personal well-being—it’s that simple.

The following contribution is from another author.

While the image of spending time lounging on the beach with a cold beverage often springs to mind when people picture relaxing, there are many other ways to unwind. If you want to pamper yourself, you can do so from the comfort of your own home. This can help you save time and money on expensive trips while reaping the benefits of a relaxing experience.

1. Create an Inviting Atmosphere

If you have a lot of demands on your time, you may find it difficult to keep your house neat and clean. However, it can be difficult to relax in a messy environment. Instead of enjoying yourself, you may feel like you should spend your time scrubbing dishes, sorting laundry, or decluttering a closet. Clean and organize your home, or at least fix up the section of the house you plan to relax in.

Surround yourself with your favorite aroma by setting up candles, wax warmers, or diffusers with your favorite fragrance oil. Dim the lights and put on gentle, soothing background music. Get yourself a bouquet of flowers and lay out a fluffy robe and comfortable slippers.

2. Mimic the Spa Experience

No matter what part of the spa experience is your favorite, there are ways for you to bring aspects of that treatment into your home. Soak your feet while you perfect your manicure and then complete your look with a matching pedicure. Slather on a hair mask or face mask and slip into a bubble bath while you are waiting.

For an extra special experience, you can look into getting a small sauna, hot tub, or equipment for facials. However, those things are not necessary for you to have a great time unwinding at home.

3. Revel in Culinary Delights

Most people love treating themselves to a favorite meal or candy. If you love cooking, then you may prefer to spend some time in the kitchen whipping up an old favorite or experimenting with a new recipe you’ve always wanted to try. Should you prefer not to cook, then consider ordering in from your favorite restaurant or try a meal from a new place. Cap off the meal with your favorite dessert, whether you love dark chocolate candies or exotic fruit.

4. Invite a Friend

Although there are many benefits of spending some alone time to recharge, you can always invite a friend or two to share the experience. This can be a great way to catch up with people you haven’t seen in awhile while creating fun memories. You can be as formal or as silly as you’d like. Feel free to create an adult atmosphere with sophisticated wine glasses and fancy soaps or indulge in a sleepover vibe with goofy hairstyles and funky makeovers.

5. Relax Without Remorse

Guilt can get in the way of a relaxing experience and spoil the whole event. However, stress can lead to significant health problems, so remember that carving out time to unwind is vital to your well-being. If you do not take good care of yourself, then it can become difficult to effectively continue your daily routine.

Everyone recharges in a different way. Spending time doing things that make you happy can boost your mood and help you get through stressful days. By thinking about the things that you find most relaxing, you can craft a fantastic relaxation routine.

GIVE YOURSELF A FACIAL. Skip the expensive spa and give yourself a steam facial at home! And nope, I’m not talking about one of those “facials” where you hold a soggy warm washcloth over your face. Get ready to say hello to your new favorite budget beauty tool: the Conair Facial Sauna System. I had so much fun testing this!

All you have to do is fill the vessel with water and within two minutes you’ll have yourself a high-quality steam facial that gently unclogs pores and leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft! There’s even a handy timer so you can customize the length of your facial and an electric brush with two different attachments that you can use for applying your exfoliator and moisturizer. Want to know the price for all of this? Just $24. Yep, it’s true!

TRY ALL THE SHEET MASKS. So I’ve been a BIG mask kick lately, even more so than usual. I think it’s this winter weather. My normal skincare routine just hasn’t been cutting it and my face is just crazyyyy dry and flaky. One of my favorite easy ways to give my skin a little extra love is with a sheet mask.

How to pamper yourself at home

I purchased this pack of 11 sheet masks for just $17 and have been having a blast testing each one. I also love that once you’ve used a sheet mask you can just toss it in the trash and not have to deal with wiping any residue or goop off your face.

PAMPER YOUR LIPS. I dunno about you guys, but I always forget about my lips. Lately I feel like every time I put on my lip balm it’s to no avail. My lips are still crusty and cracked despite the fact I feel like I’m moisturizing them 500+ times a day.

Needless to say my pout could use some extra TLC, which is why I came up with a quick and easy winter lipcare routine. Twice a week after steaming my face I exfoliate my lips with this Burt’s Bees conditioning lip scrub. I just apply it with my fingers and gently scrub away any flaky pieces. I’ve tried a bunch of lip scrubs over the years, but I LOVE this one because it’s 100% natural and the crystals aren’t too chunky. After exfoliating I’ll smother my lips with this Aquaphor lip treatment.

On days when I reallyyyyy wanna take my lip routine up a notch, I’ll use a lip mask. YES lip masks exist! Who knew, right? I was skeptical when I first saw these collagen infused lip masks, but curiosity got the best of me so I went ahead and ordered a pack of two. Y’all these are so cool! It’s basically like a sheet mask for the lips. All you have to do is place it over your mouth, let it soak for 10-15 minutes and peel it away for a smooth moisturized pout!

BATH BOMBS. I forgot how fun these are! Also is there anything better on a chilly night than a long warm soak in the tub? When I’ve had a really long day I love to unwind by taking a bath. These pink bath fizzies smell AMAZING and are enriched with vitamin E to moisturize the skin. You can get a bag of 8 for just $7!

DRUGSTORE SKINCARE ADD-ONS. You guys know that I’m a big fan of Olay moisturizers (I’m obsessed with this one!) but recently I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and have been using this hydrating mist and clay mask stick.

How to pamper yourself at home

Let’s talk about the mist first. This is a life saver for parched skin, especially on days when I’m wearing makeup! A spritz of this mist instantly wakes up the face (thanks to vitamin C & bergamot!) leaving skin looking bright and makeup looking refreshed. It’s a really nice pick-me-up to keep in your purse or carry-on bag too!

If sheet masks aren’t your thing, then you’re going to love this Olay clay stick mask. It’s super easy to apply and you don’t even need to use your fingers! I bought the Fresh Reset mask, which is formulated with pink mineral complex & Kaolin clay to micro-polish away clogging surface cells and fresh dull skin. PS there’s a charcoal version of this mask too!

The last product I want to call out to you guys is this CeraVe eye repair cream. I grew up using CeraVe moisturizers and body lotions, but this is the first time I’ve ever tried anything exclusively for the eye area. Lemme tell you: I LOVE this stuff! This cream is super hydrating and works to diminish dark circles and puffiness. The best part is it’s just $10!

Well that was fun! I haven’t indulged in a pamper sesh like this in a longgggg time, but now I’m thinking I might have to make it a regular weekend ritual. 😛

Self Pamper at home : Wrapping up with a timely tip

Add cucumber slices to a jug of water and put it on your desk. This spa-inspired beauty trick makes you drinking water even more palatable and beneficial, as studies have found that cucumber’s fresh scent and taste reduce anxiety, and drinking at least 250-ml glasses of water a day will help to keep your skin hydrated and smooth. This is hardly any work, and I cannot stress enough how much this helps in imbibing a freshness to the face and skin.

How to pamper yourself at homeHad a not-good, terrible, horrible, unhappy, bad day at work? These eight ways to pamper yourself at home will help you gather strength and energy to face tomorrow.

The other day, I gave a presentation at school (I’m working on my Master’s of Social Work at UBC in Vancouver). The professor raked me over the coals. I unintentionally provided him with two “teachable moments” that he used to educate the other students about the importance of high-quality research and precise terminology in social work. That was three days ago, and I’m still cringing embarrassment. It stings!

But it feels good to talk about it, and to admit that I didn’t prepare as well as I should have for the presentation. I gave a 70% effort – definitely not graduate level preparation. I rushed through my research, and didn’t check my facts properly. I screwed up.

And that, my friends, is one way to pamper yourself after a bad day at work: accept responsibility for what you didn’t do well, and make a mental note to do it differently next time. This tip may not seem like pampering yourself, but once you own up to your mistake, then you’re in a better frame of mind to be kind to yourself. You can’t truly be good to yourself unless you’re honest with yourself.

Here are seven more tips for pampering yourself at home, starting with the spiritual and ending with the practical…

By the way – do you read books that comfort you after a hard day? Please share with me in the comments below – I’d love to add a list of books to this post.

Bow your head and bend your knee to your Creator. I don’t know how spiritual or God-centered you are, but I’ve tasted the depth of love, compassion, acceptance, and freedom that Jesus Christ brings. I feel loved no matter how bad I mess up, and I am accepted no matter how lazy or unprepared I was at school. There’s something liberating about God – and He is my first choice when I think of ways to pamper myself after a hard day.

Book a weekend away. Travel is my favorite way to escape and pamper myself after a tough time. When was the last time you went away for the weekend? My husband and I recently spent four nights in Vegas, and it was so invigorating and relaxing. Want to go away for a spell? Read How to Book a Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bury your face in your pet. I have two dogs – Georgie and Tiffy – and my favorite thing when I’m upset, sad, or scared is to bury my face in their necks. Tiffy is especially cuddly and sweet, and could spend hours in my arms. Do you have a cat or dog, and do you spend time just leaning on them?

Light a candle, and sit in silence or soft music for 10 minutes. One of the best ways to pamper yourself at home after a bad day at work is to connect with your spirit. Listen to your heart, thoughts, mind, and soul. What does your body need? What are you scared of? What do you hope for? Pray, meditate, connect with yourself. Some people find music helpful, while others prefer scents. If you haven’t tried incense to soothe anxiety, read The Benefits of Burning Incense for Meditation.

Get a massage. My husband was laid off from work five months ago, which means we lost our extended health care coverage. So, I’m not getting my regular massages – and I miss them so much! Especially since I recently wrote about the benefits of massage for a health magazine; I am now more convinced than ever that it’s a healthy way to pamper yourself after a bad day at work. When was the last time you got a massage?

Daydream about getting a new job. Are your problems at work due to you, or the work environment? It’s easy to blame everything and everyone else, but smarter and healthier is to figure out where the buck stops. Eventually, it has to stop with you! If you hate your job and wish you could find new work, start visualizing what it’d be like to start fresh somewhere else. Read 7 Cautions for a Career Change at 40 if you’re serious about transitioning to a new job.

Pamper yourself with a bubble bath. I hesitated to include bubble baths, but it’s such a solid as a tip for pampering yourself after a bad day at work! Lock yourself in your bathroom, find a book you love, run yourself a hot bath, and sink back into the warmth and goodness of the tub.

I am a huge fan of spa gift baskets because there’s always so many new soaps, lotions, and suds to explore.Pamper yourself with a Art of Appreciation Gift Baskets Essence of Jasmine Bathtub Spa, Bath and Body Set.

A final tip for pampering yourself after a bad day at work is to put it into perspective. Here on New Beginnings, I write lots of articles about people starting over after terrible shocks and setbacks. If you’re not dealing with a life-threatening diagnosis, if you have people in your life who love you, and if you are free to go wherever you want…then you will be all right.

How to pamper yourself at home

Self-care has a profound impact on mental health. Studies have found that people with less consistent skin routine are likely to suffer from mood issues, bipolar disorders, depressive episodes and loneliness. However, doing something for yourself can reduce triggers of negative thoughts and keep your head focused. This is of paramount importance amid an ongoing global pandemic. It is solely because we are advised against fun mood enhancing activities like a quick swim or travelling.

Further, home-pamper sessions can keep you from expensive trips to the spas. Most of them are quite efficient to keep yourself looking fabulous while ensuring overall-all wellbeing. Below are a few good self-care ideas that are simple and useful. Have a look.

1. Waxing Session

You might underestimate the need to wax in a lockdown situation. This is simply because there is nowhere to go and body hair suddenly seems acceptable. However, hair removal at home is a great way to feel good about yourself. You start looking well-groomed which is extremely important for your psychological and physical health. Pick cold wax strips which are a convenient and painless solution. A body-hair remover creamis also a good way to protect yourself from hot runny wax used in salons.

2. Warm Bubble Bath

Why not use your favorite scrub, essential oils and body wash to enjoy a long bath? You can add on a few herbs, light a candle and put on music too. This is a perfect way to spoil yourself after a tiring day. It comes with plenty of benefits like muscle relaxation and reducing stress while softening your skin for easy gliding of body-hair remover or trimmer. Also, watch videos about how to use scented wax cubes and add candles to your bath area.

3. Comfort Food

Long periods of isolation can take a great toll on your appetite. However, feed your body with some delicious dishes like desserts, candies and dark chocolates. These are known to reduce stress and anxiety levels. You can also indulge in a few relaxing drinks like chamomile tea which are safe to be used in high doses. Yogurt, fruit salads and green tea are also great choices.

4. Practice Mindfulness

This is a great way to enhance healing and pampering yourself. Yoga comes with several benefits like better sleep, enhanced mood, relief from body pain and stress management. In fact, prolonged meditation and breathing can improve mental health. It can also ensure better clarity and calmness while strengthening mind-body connection. These are important to overcome the lockdown blues while living a fulfilling life.

5. Binge-Watch

Put on some good shows to help sideline your worries. In fact, they are a great way to rest your brain after an exhausting day. Shows can keep you distracted from the world and help you relax your nerves too. Make sure to pick rom-com or comedy genres. Psychologists say that these can release endorphins and help you feel good. About Time, Groundhog Day, The Spectacular Now and The Pursuit of Happiness are ideal ones. Avoid murder mysteries and crime thrillers which can be intimidating.

Waxing, manicure-pedicure, reading a book or online shopping are other ultimate fun ways to spoil yourself.

Ya, so it’s National Relaxation Day …

I should stress (pun intended) that I’m working from home, with two sick kids and a segment taping coming up tomorrow morning! Oh, and the magical 4-day, family-and-friends weekend the hubby and I planned never happened … because someone, then two someones had near 103 fevers. Yup, that’s #momlife #circuslife.

But, today is National Relaxation Day and I am going to take a nap, just as soon as this post goes live. Praying it’s 3:30pm.

On my last trip to DC, I taped a fun pampering segment, which ran today. I hope it inspires you mamas to take some time for yourselves. I know how hard it is to put yourself on the to-do list, but it’s extremely important for your well being.

During self-isolation and quarantine, you may be looking for ways to entertain yourself at home. Have you thought of making it a spa day? We have some tips on how to pamper yourself with an at-home spa day.

Dream it.

A beautiful five-star spa, with steam rooms, whirlpools and exotic treatments, is a great way to relax and take a break. However, there are times when your budget or your schedule won’t allow you to splurge on a spa day.

Imagine a relaxing spa day at home, complete with multiple treatments, all with the intent of helping you relax, unwind and treat your dry, ageing skin.

Plan it.

Setting Up Your DIY Home Spa Day

Before creating your at-home spa spaces, it is essential that you clean and declutter your home. Especially your bathroom and space you plan to use as a relaxation area.

Bathroom in DIY Home Spa Set-Up

The bathroom is the perfect spot for your wet treatments. The place to soak in the tub or turn your shower into a steam room. Set the mood with candles on the sink or floor and use a bathtub caddy to organize your scrubs, oils, a book and perhaps a glass of wine.

Bedroom or Living Room Spa Set-Up

You will need a space to relax like a lazy-boy chair or your bed. This area is an excellent place for facial treatments like a face mask or relaxation meditations after your bath treatments.

Set the Ambiance for Your At-Home Spa

Start with a playlist of spa classics that you can find on Amazon Music, Spotify or Apple Music. Choose from nature sounds, or glass singing bowls or a Spa mix.

Use scented candles to create a softly lit space and add some aromatherapy to the air. Place them in the bathroom where you will be doing your wet treatments and in the relaxation space.

Get What You Need for DIY Spa DayTreatments

There are many items that you will need for your treatments; these include:

  • Sugar Scrubs
  • Paper Face Masks

Bath Bomb and Soak

Throw in an aeromantic bath bomb or use your favourite bath wash for a nice long soak in a hot tub.

Steam Treatment

Don’t have a tub? You can turn your shower into a steam room. Run hot water in the shower for a few minutes until it steams up the stall. Turn off the water and then sit in the steamed shower stall until it cools off.

How to Pamper Yourself with Other At-Home Relaxation Treatments

Have a shiatsu massager, use it to give yourself a gentle massage while resting in a comfy chair. Be sure to massage the bottom of your feet too.

Home Facial Treatments

Use a clay mask like Loreal Pure-Clay Mask to exfoliate your face, for blackheads use Biore pore strips or charcoal strips.

A paper moisturizing face mask is an easy way to give yourself a moisturizing facial at home. Splurge on some gold eye gel patches and give your eyes a boost too.

At Home Manicures and Pedicures

Don’t forget to treat yourself to an at home manicure and pedicure. Use a large bowl filled with bath salts to soak your hands and feet and apply a fresh coat of nail polish.

Meditation and Relaxation

The most important part of your spa experience will be taking some time in a quiet space where you can meditate or relax and listen to spa music. We rarely consider this time for ourselves, and it is the perfect way to end your at-home spa day.

How to pamper yourself at home

While you are stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, now is a better time than ever to focus on your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We recommend that you do as much as you can to pamper yourself, and we hope that you will use these tips to make the most of your time at home. While pampering yourself is not the same as coming to the spa, you can still do things to make your life more relaxed and centered.

1. Call A Friend

You should call a friend regardless of whether they live in the Winston-Salem area or not. Speaking with a friend helps you feel better and also strengthens your relationship with that person. This is a good time to vent frustrations and share laughs, and you can even get some encouragement while you are on the phone. You might even want to set up a schedule where you and your friend talk every few days.

Having group phone calls, FaceTime sessions, or Zoom video calls with your favorite people is also a great way to socialize with multiple people at once.

2. Have A Warm Cup Of Tea

Starting or ending your day with a warm cup of tea is an excellent way to start or end your day on the right foot. A warm drink is much more comforting than something served cold or with ice. You will be able to relax when it is almost time for bed, or you will feel more energetic because you had a warm drink in the morning.

3. Take A Bath
